What the club says: The championship length course is 18 holes, par 73 and is 6660 yards long (white tees) and 6419 yards long (yellow tees). The ladies course, off the red tees, is 5,666 yards long. The course includes a large practice area, practice putting green, chipping and bunker area and a pitching green.

A couple of holes to look out for are the 9th and the 18th holes. The 9th is a testing par five of 547 yards, which is guarded by a large water hazard in front of the green; those players who hit a long tee shot will have a tough choice of whether to lay up or to take on the water and go for the green with their second shot. The 18th is a short par four with the green well protected by bunkers and a water hazard. An accurate second shot is required to register your par.

Winter masterpiece 08.02.19

Full greens, fast for season, true lines. \No mud.
Walked 18,clean shoes and trolley, dry feet.
Firm fairways, greens were giving action like the pga circuit ! £20 round . Bargain you won’t be disappointed . The greens are on a par with the Brabazon
at this time of year .

Great course

It's a fantastic course to play when most clubs are closed due to bad weather Worfield is mostly open and people from other clubs come here to play when their course is closed

In Fantastic Shape

The course and facilities have improved immensely over the past 6 months. The course is in great condition with superb greens. The club shop is open every day and the clubhouse is open 5 days a week, closed on a Monday and Thursday unless there is a society playing.
Well worth a society visit.

VG greens

Fairways are very poor needs a lot of attention and bunkers are like hitting a ball off concrete gone downhill very quickly but it's not a bad course really apart from these things

Good challenging course. Drainage is excellent which allows for 12 months golf. Green Fees are expensive which may put off visitors. However I like the course and will be applying for membership!

I played this course with a member some years ago) and was looking forward to returning. The course, as previously, was in nice condition and the greens were good; however, off course was a complete let down. The pro shop has nothing in it to speak of and the bar was closed. I understand that membership is falling quite quickly (there were only 6 cars in the car park and two belonged to greenkeeping staff - on a Friday afternoon) and there are 'issues' regarding how the club is being managed. The place had a feeling of terminal decline. There are plenty of other good courses in the vicinity and if you want to feel you are in a vibrant, active club then go elsewhere.

Just back from a superb Society day's golf.

The course was in superb condition and the greens were almost totally unblemished, rolled very true and were very slick as well.

The course is pretty hilly in places but easy enough to negotiate and I didn't find it too difficult or tiring to play 27 holes without a buggy. You start with a long uphill par 4, and then go back down with another par 4. The third hole isn't that long, but there are 2 cavernous bunkers protecting it and escaping them is definitely not easy for even competent bunker players. There aren't too many bunkers around the course and they all seem consistent.

Overall there is a lot of variety on the course and you can use your driver on most of the par 4s and 5s without too much fear of getting into trouble.

There isn't that much rough and even if the balls go in amongst the trees, finding them isn't too difficult as the grass is well trimmed under them.

The clubhouse is nicely presented and the food we had (bacon sarnies to start the day, and mixed sarnies and chips for lunch were well prepared and presented) Drinks were reasonably priced and the service was good.

Overall I can highly recommend the course though it is by no means easy, especially if the wind blows (as it did) because it is pretty open.

If you're nearby and want to play golf, you will enjoy this course.

Nice course, very hilly though despite what the girl in the clubshop said! Would recommend a buggy! No real standout/signature hole that you would say 'WOW' on, but overall a very good course. The greens were like glass, even after the downpour yesterday! For £15, would definitely visit again as was much nicer than alot of courses you pay more for!

One of the best courses in the area and great value for money. Following recent investment the course is improving rapidly. Spend time on the putting greens before you play to get used to the speed as out on the course they are rapid.

Definitely a 'must play' if you are in the area.

Hadn't played for around 7 months and couldn't pick a better local venue to get back out on the course. Track was in great condition and couldn't fault our round for value at £20.00 on a 2-fore-1!!!
