Things have improved since the course review was written, the pro shop has relocated from the Al Kasar centre into the new temporary club house by the first tee, so player now have a facility to have a drink or snack after the game. I have played The Alhama Signature Course many times as I am fortunate enough to own an apartment on the resort, the course is fantastic, very long fairways with challenging bunkers with white sand and silk like greens. The course curves its way around 5 lakes. The recently opened club house with its roof top terrace offers panoramic views of the course and practice area, this is a great addition to a great course.

Well worth a visit and the resort also has plenty of restaurants and bars.

This course is without a doubt one of the toughest courses I have played in my short time as a golfer (term used lightly) but on the same note I would have to say one of the best.
The par three's seem longer than those in England and the one's over water are especially daunting.
Hitting the fairways of the tee is a must as finding your ball in the arid rough is nigh on impossible. Over all it is a very challenging course and I would advise taking more balls than you would at home.

Played ithese 3 courses in early Feb 2012, sunny but a bit chilly due to the wind

Condada - great course, each hole a challenge with either water or sand. Greens quick and true, fairways in good nick - recommend! Infrastructure terrible. Pro shop about 1/2 mile from 1st tee, could only buy course planner from the supermarket! No clubhouse so could not have a beer or shower.

Mar Menor - thought previous reviews about being a round of 2 halves were a bit harsh. Course maintained really well, liked the new holes 13 to 15 around the lake.
Good clubhouse for beers afterwards. No course plans available to buy which was a bit frustrating.

El Valle - greens were very fast, but had to be accurate otherwise you just ran off the green (green keeper obviously was in a mood as some of the placements were incredibly tricky. Very picturesque amongst the various ravines with the landscaping adding to the experience. excellent condition, good clubhouse but no course planner (again). Would recommend as a good challenge after the first few holes which were by far the only boring holes of the 18

Whilst the course is still in its infancy, it is in great condition with lightning fast greens. An absolute monster from the white tees, which reflects the fact the course was set up with professional golf tournaments in mind. When the wind blows it will challenge the best of golfers with plenty of water awaiting errant shots.

Great practice facilities onsite (grass driving range, chipping area, practice bunkers and putting green).

Only negative is the lack of clubhouse at the time of writing this review. However, there is a bar and restaurant on the resort site which golfers can use.

The course itself merits five stars, however, the lack of facilities reduces the overall rating. In years to come this will be one of the best courses in Spain.

Pretty new course - fairways not settled down fully. Beautifully landscaped almost like a desert style course. Some tough holes and I am sure that off the plates (at 7400!) it is a beast. Some fun water holes but overall this is playable. You do not want to be too wide though as in places the rough was a foot of thick grass. When this beds down it will be amazing.

Good but needs improvement

The course is at a good standard considering it's closure for the covid years.
It still has some work to do but it's playing well with local rules pick and place etc.

This course is difficult lots of bunkers in front of the greens and on the course in general this course has also suffered from the recent storms lower handicap golfers would enjoy.

Played this as a replacement to another course which was cancelled. This is a long hard course and I would have to say that unless you are a single figure player then this is too tough a course for the average golfer like myself. Lots of water and even more sand than the average course there. Would I recommend,?. NO, but then give it a try if you are in the area.

An OK course, no water in any of the hazards, a lot of long foliage in the rough meaning you will never find your ball if you stray from the fairway. A few interesting holes but a lot of just long straight holes that don't really excite. Clubhouse is more of a shack with a cafe attached, quite underwhelming really. For a supposed Jack Nicklaus course maybe I expected too much but it really isn't one that I would be bothered about not playing again.

A strange hybrid of a course - an American parkland course on links type turf/ground. Yes, I know who designed it but it is too long for the average club golfer (even off the yellows). The fast and sloping fairways render keeping the ball in play almost impossible on some holes unless you opt for a bunker ! Too me the vast cavernous bunkers (of which there many) looked out of place. Oh why oh why this obession with distance - the Par 3\'s are again too long for the average club player. What has happened to the well, bunkered Par3 with small greens that requires a 7 or 8 Iron.
