Worth a visit
Our second time here at Silves. All the staff very helpful. Got paired of with lovely couple from London, but that didn't matter to much. again challenging course as you would expect. No hold ups speed of play good.Reviewer Rating

PESTANA RESORT PORTUGAL
Second course we visited - Silves is very different to Gramacho in that it's more open and barren away from the fairways - 3 or 4 breathtaking holes - Hole 13 and 5 in particular. Clubhouse/Bar area not as plush as the Gremacho one and there are no villas/apartments around this course just yet as phase 1 of the accommodation launch is just under way. Another Algarve course in this Algarve resort - only Vale da Pinta to go now on this trip!(Round played: May 2017 - Score: 93 Handicap: 18.7)

Book in at the clubhouse shop no buggies available for 11 30 tee time we hired basic trolley 5 euro each. The course and greens were in good condition. position the ball for best chance of a par. Enjoyed the game but not the walk some of the course is up hill. Only stayed in the clubhouse for 20 minutes after the game because it took 4 45 to get around. Our taxi was due so really cannot pass comment on facilities. We would play the course again but only if others were not available.

Surprisingly Picturesque course nestled away. Does not get the same attention as it's sister courses at Gramacho and Pinta, but well worth visiting. Good mixture of long and short holes and a good test for low and high handicappers.
Only suggestion would be for an improvement in the buggy bar service - the buggy should be driving around the course rather than just parking half way round.
Clubhouse is quaint and the staff very helpful.
We paid €160 for a fourball and two buggies which is good vfm.
It's nice to play golf in the Algarve without the course being surrounded by villa developments! Mind you the cork smoking factory is an interesting feature!

Played this course for the first time and was impressed. It's a bit out of the way and has 6 par 3's but don't be fooled they are not short ones!

I have played Silves many times over the last few years. It is sometimes forgotten about as it is not located on the Pinta/Gramacho resort- don't make this mistake!
Silves is always immaculate tee to green. Set away from any urban area so offers stunning views (12-15 minute drive from Gramacho resort/J6 of A22).
Clubhouse is up to the usual Algarve top standard, good food, great staff with none of the stuffy nonsense we have to put up with in UK.
Highly recommended and up there with Pinta, Penina and Gramacho in terms of quality in the Portimao/Carvoeiro area.
