Very disapointed! The course is in fair nick, but it comes accross as an outsized pitch and putt. Half the course in a dull flat field, and the other in a very hilly one (which was more interesting). As a newbie a decent map on the scorecard would have helped, with several of the holes having a considerable amount of rough between the end of the fairway and the green, and others not, it's impossible to judge your approach. On the hole I missed the fairway right, on to the neighbouring one, only to find a that (only on this hole) I'm OB!! Not that I've played a vast amount of courses, but I've never come accross this before. The much nicer courses I usually play in Essex, charge about £16 midweek, Here it was £20!! I WONT BE COMING BACK!!!

GOOD COURSE, NICE PEOPLE ,VERY FRIENDLY, CLUB HOUSE AVERAGE, ENJOY PLAYING THERE. IF GREENS WERE BETTER IT WOULD PUT THE COURSE IN A DIFFERENT LEAGUE .

Played on two occasions this year with my wife (32 h/cp) and myself (20h/cp) used a buggy because we are both over 75 ,mostly to save pulling/carrying our clubs. The course covered all the challenges, with the first nine hilly and the back nine more on the level .My first round 90 gross left me some where close to par and we found it much less of a challenge than our home course La grande Mare in Guernsey.

Played early on a windy, sunny Sunday morning. Lots of locals playing in groups of four so quite busy so I played "back 6" then "front 12" holes. Quite wet after heavy rain the day before but the greens dried quickly. This is quite a hilly but short course not unlike my regular (Cuckfield) so quite suited to my game (high handicapper). Plenty of forgiving fairways and easier to keep the same ball that many other courses I've played. Not too many bunkers either. Overall I loved it. The views towards Poundbury are spectacular. No real facilities open to speak of but there is The Caddy Shack on site so worth calling in advance to check opening times. Only real criticism is that the club should update its website. 18 holes at the weekend was £20.

As a beginner and this being my first 18 hole course, I found this course very forgiving on the fairways as they are generously wide, giving my inexperience my accuracy is still poor and my range not great. There is a good mixture of long 450 yards plus and short 120 yard holes. I did find the first 9 holes very challenging as they are on the hilly side, made a bit easier on the back 9 as they were a bit flatter. I found most the greens quite flat and smooth. All in all some great lessons learnt and would go back any day! Great for the Novice golfer.
