Came Down Golf Club was founded in 1896, and shows off an excellent challenge, suitable for golfers at all levels. The course sits on chalk downland and offers fantastic views to locations such as Weymouth, Portland, Dorchester, Isle of Wight and Maiden Castle.

Hilltop challenge
Situated on a hillside overlooking Weymouth and the Dorset countryside giving great views to distract you from your game. The course itself has a good mixture of holes with some challenging par threes. Play on a windy day and this course is really is tough. Fabulous Views
Lovely setting on the Dorset hills outside of Dorchester. The front nine is hillier than the back but the changes in slope set a real challenge for club selection. Even when you’re on the green you face more challenges with the slopes. Course was in good order considering all the rain. Hospitality was excellent. Definitely worth a visitReviewer Rating

Stunning views, great condition
Came Down GC is renowned for its views and we were lucky enough to have the most perfect clear, calm day when we played. There is quite a bit of elevation change throughout which makes clubbing more difficult but it is a fair challenge. Conditioning was excellent. Greens were a bit scary in places with some big slopes. It is a very consistent course without being an amazing layout. The course itself did not excite but it was very enjoyable to play.Reviewer Rating

Lovely views
Well kept course with the most beautiful of views wherever you look. Greens will cause the very best difficulties and you need to get away on the fairway shots from the tee boxes. Lovely atmosphere around the course and club itself.Reviewer Rating

Fantastic course
Very varied holes and greens very tricky indeed- various undulations. Very well kept bunkers with plenty of sand and well raked. Fairways wide and open in most cases. Wind direction a test. Fabulous scenery.Reviewer Rating

Hilly but Good
Played a few weeks ago. The course has some great holes. The wind was brutal, great views, 9 of us played everyone thought the course was great. Oh and nice clubhouse.Reviewer Rating
