This is 1 of the 2 premier courses at Walt Disney World (The other being the Palm) . These are both designed by Joe Lee. We played here during a recent trip to Orlando for a conference and it was my 1st proper 18 hole round of golf. The heat in June is almost unbearable and I was suffering by the last few holes. For Florida golf it is expensive but the landscaping is good and the fairways & rough are playable with less water hazards than a lot of other courses. The Greens were not very flat and had just been sanded which did not help.

9 Hole Disney Course

There's no riding at Disney's Oak Trail so be prepared for walking only. It's flat though, 9 holes, and a very pretty course where you can expect to see a lot of wildlife.

What you shouldn't expect is an easy time on your scorecard. A lot of the holes aren't especially long, but the course is fairly tight, and the greens are generally raised, undulating and small.

The nicest stretch is from holes 5 to 7. All three holes hidden from the rest of the course and have water coming into play. The other hole's are all pretty much up and down.

Staff very friendly and definitely worth the playing for the Disney experience. A really good test of golf, particularly from the whites and the greens were in excellent condition. Surprised there was no fertiliser / sand on the buggy, as there were many divots all over the fairway which made for some holes looking scrappy on the fairway and around the green.

9 Hole Disney Course

Disney's Oak Trail sits inside of it's far more famous Disney neighbour course, The Magnolia, and shares the outstanding clubhouse and facilities with that and The Palm.

This 9 hole course is walking only, which in itself is pretty unusual around Orlando. Despite it being described as a warm up to the other courses, it has it's own way of preventing you from beating it up. The fairways aren't the widest, and the raised greens can best be described as small to tiny.

There are some very pretty holes on the course, especially the stretch from 5 to 7, and there's an abundance of wildlife. I apparently wasn't the only turkey on the course! I'm not sure that it's worth the $39 prime time 9 hole fee, but if you get a deal then I'd suggest giving it a go.

The course had just been airated and this was taken into account by the green fee charged but I was told that this only applied to the greens but the whole course was a mass of grainy sand and although my score doesn't reflect how bad the course was (36 pts) I would have to say it was the least enjoyable round I can think of and I have played some poor courses back home in england.this course along with its sister course (palm) are on the PGA tour circuit. There is no way I would return to any DIsney course at the moment as they all appear to be in terrible condition. There are plenty of other courses in the Orlando area so try them first.
