Wait till course dries out
Played a competition at Slinfold Golf & Country Club in blizzard conditions. The course should have been closed. It was at condition 3 which is carry only unless a doctors note for dispensation to use a caddy cart. The course was like a quagmire in places with much standing water, especially in many bunkers, much off the rest was sodden and squelched as you walked. A ball with any height immediately "plugged" on impact. I had been a member at one time and was disappointed to see how much the surroundings had been cut back.Reviewer Rating

Unfortunately this time of year the course suffers as quite flat, it is very soggy in places with some winter tees and winter greens in play. No buggies allowed at present and there are occasions when caddies are not allowed and it is carry your clubs only. A lot of work on drainage been done recently and it is better than in years gone by.

This course does not drain well but greens are in good condition but very muddy underfoot in places.

Good course. Not great "between hole" standard- rough pathways, ball cleaning and bins only every other hole at best. Club catering not very good for mid round sandwiches etc.

course wasn't really in a good state. Tatty would the word I would use. Greens were covered in a sandy dressing. Some temp tees although no real need, as we have such a mild Autumn so far

Greens were in ood nick and very accepting of shots when we played. The wet weather helped. Some tee's were a bit soft under foot and the due to the rain quite a few holes played long. A good course though for a mid handicap golfer.

Could have been much better. If you're going to mow the rough at least collect the cuttings! We were losing balls that had only rolled a couple of inches off the fairway because of all the dead grass cuttings left out. Apart from that the course was great and the clubhouse facilities were superb.
