NEGLECTED?
The course layout offers a decent challenge. The course physically looks very neglected I'm sorry to say.The green surfaces are uneven with blotchy surfaces and difficult to read.
Many of the fairways need a lot more attention such as rolling and mowing. Some patches of water logged mud should be looked at with as some good shots were spoiled as the ball became plugged. I'm not sure of USPGA standards but am not sure they apply here.
Sorry but disappointed to say I am unlikely to return or recommend

Not a great track but got potential if it was just cared for
Not a tricky course but the ridiculously thick rough makes it hard. Even if your drives are hitting the fairway and runs into the rough there is a danger you lose your ball its that thick. Not a lot of signs of first cut rough at all and for me this is not helping the course. The potential is there. If this course was to be cared for and a head greenkeeper who knew what he was doing you could transform the place into a course people would look forward to playing. 4 bunkers on the course, 3 of them are a mess. Few greens with damage around the edges, bins not emptied, ball cleaners with no water, tee boxes a mess. A little bit of work goes a long way and if that was applied to this course I would probably play it again. At the moment I won't be back until the course improves. Staff in the clubhouse were polite and accommodating.Reviewer Rating

Aylesbury is a typical parkland coure. Pretty straight but I think it plays longer than the scorecard suggests. Not too many hazards but reasonably forgiving if you stray off the straight and narrow. 4th and 16th challenging par 4s if you lack a little distance off the tee. Good value for money.

Wasn't that keen to play here this year, but was surprised at how much improved it was since 2007. However, not recommended after a lot of rain; doesn't drain well. But inexpensive. Greens have really come on in last year and are now smooth and true.
Some tricky water comes into play here and there.
But is a parkland course made up from a few fields and will get better.

The coursed is doomed with HS2 being placed right through the middel, Suggest you play it this year as it may not be here next year

This is a park land course. Fairways well maintained, but the greens could do with more work and are unchallenging. It is a forgiving course so good for high handicappers like me. The staff are very friendly and extremely helpful. Future of the course uncertain after December 2017 because HS2 is taking 7 holes away!

Course was in very good condition, greens are a bit slow and spongy though.
