What the club says: Normanton - The newly finished 18 Hole Championship course with is breathtaking views over Rutland Water has to be on of the countries finest New Golf Courses - with a yardage of 6816 off the whites and challenging undulating greens it is a good test of skill for the lowest handicapper but remains a friendly pay and play course with a pleasant atmosphere.
Hambleton - The Hambleton Course is Rutland's Premier Par 3 golf course set in fabulous rolling countryside overlooking Rutland Water.

Challenging Course and layout
Challenging course and layout. Generally in very good condition. The club have had an issue with the greens, however they have improved significantly and with some rain they will recover soon. Good facilities and friendly staff and members. we will return again.Reviewer Rating

Disappointing
The greens were the worst I have ever seen on a 18 hole golf course. I do not what went wrong, but they are almost unplayableI played here in 2023 and the greens were like carpet - yesterday they were like ridgy sandpits. Really bad - took all the skill out of putting....you just had to hope it took a skip and a bounce in the right direction. I really think they should close the course while they sort them out

Good course spoilt
The course is quite challenging and very picturesque but all this is spoiled by the pace of play. We were a 4 ball trapped behind several groups of 3s. We gave up after 16 holes because it was going to be nearly 5 hours out there.Reviewer Rating

I really enjoyed my round at Rutland Water Golf Course. The course was a bit more challenging than I was used to but it still offered a great variety of holes and stunning views of Rutland Water. It was a great test of my handicap and I would definitely recommend it to any golfer.

Nice Course and in great condition
Nice Course and in great condition generally. Condition of bunkers was disappointing, very inconsistent.i like the layout, greens take some getting used to due to their undulating surface.

Great course well worth the green fee
One of the best courses i have played. Greens, fairways and bunkers all in great condition. Holes are challenging and very varied but opportunities to score are there. Some great views to be had of Rutland water itself. Couldn't recommend the course enoughReviewer Rating

Fantastic course worth visiting
A fantastic course worth visiting. The condition was great, the hospitality was great, the food and shop were both great. The only downside if there was one were the greens were somewhat slow. On the whole a good visit and one we will return to.(Round played: Aug 2021 - Score: 94 Handicap: 18.7)
