Very nice course, with large amounts of gradient changes. The fairways have lots of mounds to give you challenging fairway shots.

Played Morgado and its sister course Alamos as a last minute 'Golfbreaks deal'. Because of this the vfm scores highly, I understand if you just rock up and expect to pay and play you will be paying through the nose.

The course was in mint condition, the greens immaculate, the tee boxes the most impressive I've seen anywhere in a long time. It's true that the surrounding area has an unfinished appearance, but if you look past this and concentrate on the golf, it's tip, tip top stuff!

nice course well kept, excellent fast greens, facilities are great although driving range was unavailable when we were there due to heavy rain previous week, although this had no effect on course condition. excellent

Simply one of the nicest courses I've ever played in 25 years of golfing. At 3 yards short of 7000 off the White tees it's not going to suit the short hitters, particularly the par 3's, 4 of the 5 are 190+ yards. Though as a long hitter this is a refreshing change from the more common 8-iron or less holes found on most courses. For the shorter hitter I'd recommend the yellow tees, at 641 yards shorter you'll be glad you did.
The grass is Bermuda grass and quite mature so keeping it on the fairways and greens is essential, in the rough you'd better have a good line on it as the ball will sit down and you need to be standing over it to see it. That said, the grass is soft so it's easy to pop it out of what looks on the face of it a deep lie.
The fairways are like a well underlayed carpet, smooth on the surface and slightly springy, a dream to play off and easy to get spin.
The greens are true, fast (9.5 on the stimpmeter) and perfect to putt on, some of the best you'll ever come across.
I honestly can't speak highly enough of this course, especially when the summer special of 70 euros for a 2 ball and buggy make it some of the cheapest golf in Europe, certainly for a course of this quality. Play it and you won't be disappointed.

Excellent condition fairways and greens and not that long - the championship course at the same site is longer. Not surrounded by a resort so no houses alongside the fairways and so a decent chance of finding the occasional wayward drive. The greens are very challenging so lots of putting practice needed. Summer special = 2 players + buggy + 2 waters for 99 euros = very good value by Algarve standards.

Great course, one to play

Played this in March; great course, large fast greens. Very open, wide fairways in good condition so good for all handicaps. Pace was good, no hold ups, and clubhouse drinks/food were excellent. To top the round off, playing partner had an eagle on the par 4 18th, so icing on the cake.

Great value golf in the Algarve

Despite ongoing maintenance on the greens they still ran pretty true and fast. After a prolonged dry spell (7 months) the ball still stopped in front of the green without releasing.

Enjoyable course

This is a very good course, which was only spoiled by too many half-built structures around the whole complex. It seems the developers may have run out of money or went bust, and there seems to be no-one to finish off the projects. That said, it may have just been very quiet when we played this course in January as part of a bock booking for 9 players. The course is eminently walkable - I'm 65 and carried a full set of clubs and all my gear without finding it tiring.

Starting with the Clubhouse - this was quite small inside, but with a great outdoor seating area to enjoy a post-round beer, and the food and service was very good.

As it was the end of January, the course was quiet, but we were following some very slow scandinavians which put a slight downer on proceedings. There were a couple of ladies in our 3 three balls, it was noted that there are a couple of on-course toilets at holes 6 and 14, which I have rarely seen in the Algarve.

The greens were quick and running very true, but a number of our party did find them difficult to read. Fairways were in good order, although personally, I couldn't really tell where the fairways ended and the rough began - probably just the time of year we visited.

Whilst there is water around the course, it shouldn't really come into play unless you're particularly wayward. The bunkers seemed to be well stocked with sand, although I managed to avoid them all for a change, so I could be wrong here.

I can't really speak for the cost, as this was played as part of a 7 nights, 5 rounds deal which included not only the courses, but transfers from the hotel.

Overall, I enjoyed the course and would happily play again.
