Great course in good condition. Stacks of water on the front nine and then the back nine is rocky and longer.

The Alamos course is my favourite. Beautiful views of the Monchique mountains. The first 9 nine holes are the most daunting.\An important feature of the Morgado golf club is the possibility to practice from the grass at the driving range, (which is the only one in the neighbourhood)\The clubhouse is not the most inspiring but if you just consider the course and it\' s facilities I think it \'s worth an eight! You can also play for a good price if you look at the special offers! Hcp 4.4. Round 78

Decent course especially for a high handicapper. Not a course you can lose too many balls on. Greens were good.

Overpriced, and the course has a not quite finished appearance. Quality of the hire clubs was excellent, if expensive. The course is surrounded by non completed appartments, and with at least two of the greenside areas destroyed by wild boar. wide forgiving fairways and the algarve sun made the round fun, but overall would not recommend.

nice course well kept, excellent fast greens, facilities are great although driving range was unavailable when we were there due to heavy rain previous week, although this had no effect on course condition. excellent

Out in the portuguese countryside - breathtaking views and a great course. Back 9 a little squashed together with short par 4's but you feel like you are on your own out there. Superb

A very picturesque course that makes you feel like you're exploring the Portuguese countryside through the medium of a golf course. The course starts with a couple of holes round a large lake before taking you on a tour round a large hill in a giant loop.
About 700 yards shorter than Morgado off the white tees makes it a more reasonable length to the shorter hitter but a lot tighter at times so hit it straight, especially on the 10th!
The course is perhaps not quite in the condition of Morgado and the greens are average paced but well contoured to provide a challenge.
Interestingly the summer special for 2 green fees and a buggy is now 70 euros, this speaks volumes about the state of the Portuguese economy when reading earlier posts from 2008/9.
I'd recommend playing both courses at this resort if you get the opportunity, you won't be disappointed.

Simply one of the nicest courses I've ever played in 25 years of golfing. At 3 yards short of 7000 off the White tees it's not going to suit the short hitters, particularly the par 3's, 4 of the 5 are 190+ yards. Though as a long hitter this is a refreshing change from the more common 8-iron or less holes found on most courses. For the shorter hitter I'd recommend the yellow tees, at 641 yards shorter you'll be glad you did.
The grass is Bermuda grass and quite mature so keeping it on the fairways and greens is essential, in the rough you'd better have a good line on it as the ball will sit down and you need to be standing over it to see it. That said, the grass is soft so it's easy to pop it out of what looks on the face of it a deep lie.
The fairways are like a well underlayed carpet, smooth on the surface and slightly springy, a dream to play off and easy to get spin.
The greens are true, fast (9.5 on the stimpmeter) and perfect to putt on, some of the best you'll ever come across.
I honestly can't speak highly enough of this course, especially when the summer special of 70 euros for a 2 ball and buggy make it some of the cheapest golf in Europe, certainly for a course of this quality. Play it and you won't be disappointed.
