Super course that I always enjoy playing but rarely if ever have mastered. Condition of course was superb, as always. The water features are strategically positioned to test you and they do. The 7th, 16th and 18th are three fantastic holes with water a major feature in each of them.

Awesome course, I played this the day after playing Portmarnoch which is also a fantastic course. The two are equally great to play but massively different in style and challenge. Facilities are great and people incredibly friendly. Great to see the Ryder cup history all around

I played the Palmer course on July 18, 2008 and am in shock and awe at the beauty and difficulty of this magnificent course. But as the previous review noted that it brings out the best, I actually played a very poor round hitting at least a dozen balls into water and therefore 13 over my handicap.
Right up there with the Old Course, Carnoustie, Glen Eagles (all three courses), Kingsbarns and many in the USA. That said, this is still the best course I've ever played.
The other thing noted above "but still you will be unprepared for the ensuing drama" is an understatement. Every shot from every position on this course is a do or die shot, every location on this course is a photographers dream. Sunset over the 18th the day I was there is one of the most stunning landscape photos I've ever taken.
The 7th, 16th and 17th holes are out of this world gorgeous.

My favourite back 9 in all Parkland golf. Very risk & reward and good fun if you’re playing 4 Ball better ball match play
A tough layout if you get the Irish weather
Always in good condition
Well priced compared with other top courses in ROI and a Ryder cup venue ticked off the list. Good prices available if you tee of early / twilight
