A game of two halves

A game of two halves is normally a phrase used by soccer pundits, However at Wrangaton an 1895 club situated on the edge of Dartmoor in South Devon, that is exactly what you get.
The front 9 is played on Moorland often shared by cattle sheep and horses. With its undulating fairways, rocks , bracken and gorse the course provides a challenge for golfers of all abilities. There are also excellent views of the surrounding Devon landscape. All change on the back nine where you will find a a more traditional Parkland course not without its own challenges. In the winter months it also provides a welcome relief from the exposed front nine being more sheltered.During the spring the mass carpets of Blue Bells in the adjoining woodland ls a sight to behold. What ever your ability you will enjoy sites and challenges this course has to offer.

Literally a game of two halves. The front 9 is open moorland shared with sheep cattle and the odd pony. Very challenging as the fairways are very undulating. The greens are however first class and are amongst the best in Devon. The back 9 is open park land and couldn't be more different with a couple of difficult par 3 holes. Overall a interesting course to play. There are good deals on membership as well £295 for full 7 day membership excellent value for money

Front 9 is Moorland complete with Cattle and Sheep Can be difficult but a good challange. Back 9 is Park land which again is a bit of a challange to the inexperienced golfer. It is like playng two seperate courses.

Front nine still suffering from rain - very waterlogged in places making the ground very soft, and ground strokes tricky. Back 9 always a pleasure to play!

Continues to be a strange mixture of Dartmoor front nine (this time in a howling gale) with a parkland second nine. The greens had been heavily spiked (in mid summer?) and made the game a bit of a lottery....
