Myself my son & his friend went here today 6/9/2020, We had to wait for 20 minutes on the first tee because we where following a society, it took us 2hrs & 40 minutes to play 9 holes, the play was that slow we walked off after 9 holes, the moral of the story , when booking this course ask if there is a society on the course before you, if there is, go somewhere else, £22 for 9 holes not again, I will not be going here again

Not sure what to make of this course. Following its closure, the greens and some fairways were nothing short of a disgrace and £22 to play on greens little better than your local pitch and putt stuck in the throat slightly. Having said that, the course meandered through attractive woodland with some strategically placed streams and ponds in front of greens.
I left Woodham feeling I would like to take it on again, but only when the greens are back to a playable condition. My ratings are based on the current course conditions.

Unfortunatley the memory of a nice course was spoilt by the 3 groundsmen who attend our tee shot and putting on 8 of the last 9 holes which really put us off our game. Why they couldn't work counter-clockwise so that each group would only be inconvenienced for one hole of their round instead of one group being followed for half of their game with engines whirring!

Needs a lot of attention
Great layout but condition poor. Fairways long and rough unplayable. Seems like it could be built on clay. Greens fluffy and looked diseased. Bunkers were not raked couldn’t find a bin.Reviewer Rating

Greens had been spiked for over a week and were poor spoilt the days golf for society, no notifaction of condition of greens and no offet of a reduction in the green fees

Wow, what a disappointment. As a former member, I've played here many, many times in the past and to see the course in this condition is heartbreaking. Woodham is a great layout with wide fairways and hardly any holes touching any other so great for slicers and hookers.
The course is in really poor condition though and doesn't merit the £27 weekend green fees, in fact £10 is a bit rich for the playing experience. The greens lack any form or consistency and even the fairways are rough. OK, so its been closed a year and the green-keepers are making some progress, but reviews are only as helpful as the honesty of the reviewer.
I personally won't be rushing to rejoin any time soon and can't say the drainage improvements have made much if any difference and we're only at the beginning of September. This is a course that can be closed for 25% of the year due to water logging and wet weather and it's a big ask to drain a course built on clay.
Sadly, I won't be back.

condition of greens
Most of the greens had handfulls of sand just strewn about willy nilly making putting very difficult, dont expect to need a sand wedge on a green.(Round played: Sep 2018 - Score: 104 Handicap: 31.4)
