Very wet underfoot although that's more the fault of the weather than the course and staff. Might steer clear for a couple of weeks and hope it dries up as very muddy today. All bunkers currently under repair. Having said that what do you want for £4? Cheaper than the driving range...

Tricky short 18 hole Muni. Usually always playable except in very wet weather when the back 8 is usaully close ? Small tight hard old almost links style greens, often hit or fail on front 9 ! Strarts with shot 1 hole and ends with a long Par 4/5 too ! Toughest hole is shortest, 6th 110 yds par 3, a sort of mini Redan-ish hole ? Accuracy rather then the latest distance driver needed ! Got a 64 wedge ? you will need one ? Shop is reasonable and helpful. No cafe but there is a couple of machines. No nets but has putting green and practice green and bunker too !

The course is great, few bad patches on the greens which could do with some work but for on average £7.50 on teeofftimes it's well worth the money

Due to the recent inclement weather the course was very wet.
The additional "Lakes" were off putting as not used to these additional water hazards.
A few greens were retaining water but overall the course was not too bad.
Well done the green keepers. I am sure the course will be excellent again when the rain stops.

Nice course not over long but a good test with placement important.
Fairways need to be cut shorter but this may be due to recent wet weather.

Love this course for a municiple, good fairways, well kept greens and some tricky long par 3's. My handicap is 24 as I have only been playing a year, managed to break 90 a few times, so does wonders for your confidence.

This is technically my home course! I started playing the game 1975 the year after this course was opened. It has seen some improvements over the years. The first hole is quite intimidating and I admit it has taken me over 30 years to achieve a true par (4) on this hole. Yes I know that at SI = 1 I should be scoring 5 maybe 6 on my 18 h'cap, but a straight par on this hole did wonders for my card that day. This course is NOT easy!
What are the benefits of playing this one? It's tight, sometimes unforgiving, but a good warm up round for any competition later in the week if playing elsewhere.

Unfortunately this course is closing down due to a housing development. It's got fond memories for those golfers who grew up playing this small but challenging course.
