What the club says: The course has a par of 69 with only two par 5’s and five par 3 holes.
The Ladies course has a par of 70 with the 2nd hole allocated par 5 status.
The first six holes chart the perimeter of the course and any wayward shot left will see you finish out of bounds. Another feature is that many of the more difficult holes (as reflected by their stoke index) come early in the round.
It is particularly important in Match Play at Widnes to get off to a good start, since five of the first six holes have a stoke index of 9 or less. Although the homeward nine holes contain three par 3’s, this nine also contains the longest hole, plus a set of three finishing holes that has ruined many a good round.

Think this is starting to turn out to be one of my fav courses. Only downside with this round was the rain, which for the most part, the course stood up to in most places. The 18th green suffered and prevented my hole in one haha, but show me a course that doesn't suffer when it rains.Reviewer Rating

First time for playing this course and really enjoyed it. Course is in great condition, especially given the rain that we had had a few days before. Greens are in very good condition and most pins are accessible for us high handicapper's.

Hidden Gem

Greens were nice although not much going on, most quite flat. Tree lined without being too punishing if you miss the fairway.
Course layout is confusing, completely missed a hole out due to not having any idea where to go.
Would hate to play here when its busy, due to the amount of greens and tees all close to each other
Heard four loud.mouthed old.men bellowing across the course most of the day. Caught them up at 15, didn't even acknowledge me as a single. Hope for the courses sake they aren't members.

Excellent greens.

Nice course, but very tight!
The layout of this course is very cramped to say the least. The crack of golf balls can be heard all over and shouts of Fore very common.Saying that, it is a good test, enjoyable and in good condition.

Tight, Challenging & excellent course, very well looked after with fast green. Had a late tee off so it was only £11 per round, clubhouse was closed by the end of the round but I have heard it is spot on inside.Reviewer Rating

lovely course
we played this as part of our society on Sunday 29th April 2018.we were given a warm and friendly reception by the Pro and bar staff .\preferred lies were in force as on most courses this past 6 months .\course was soft in places and not much run on the ball but we have played this course several times before and it is a very nice course to play .some tight holes and some open fairways a good mixture of holes to play.eally nice meal after and good value for money one to tick off .
