Simply Perfect

Great location , parkland with lovely fairways and smooth green. Tricky tee shots but game improver. The clubhouse facilities are great plenty of parking certainly will return.

Great course

Good mixture of holes with technical & long holes. BE selective off the tee!! Thoroughly enjoyed & will definitely play again

Superb course

One of my all time favourite courses, and after much work being done last year, and the bunkers not being brought into play for their March Senior Open, it was an absolute pleasure to play their October Senior Open with the whole course looking great. All the new bunkers are in play and look like they were put in when the course was built - a tribute to the greenkeepers and staff who contributed to all the work carried out. Obviously it means my yardage book is now out of date, but that's a small price to pay for what is again an outstanding course. The layout is really good, although one of the players did comment that 14 par 4's and only 2 par 3's and 2 par 5's was a strange layout. We were only off the yellow tees, so not playing particularly long, and only 2 scores of 40 points, and the winning score of 43 points, so no-one "tore it up". The greens are always in good nick, although we could see that they had been spiked recently, but they had all but fully recovered - possibly a little slower than they usually are but still running very true. Loads of sand in the bunkers - a lot of which are in new positions since last year's work. The fairways showed little of the hot weather damage I've seen at other courses this summer, but we were playing 'preferred lies' on closely mown areas all the same. There was the usual Autumn problem with leaves, but that is to be expected in October. The food was good, and plenty of it, and as usual, we were very well looked after by the very friendly members and staff. Already booked for their next Senior Open in March 2019, and looking forward to it.

Lovely Course

A lovely golf course. Well laid out in a fantastic setting.
Considering the weather it was in great condition, with the greens running well.
As a few other reviews have said a lot of work has been done on the course, leaving all the bunkers currently as GUR, but it will be fantastic from May once fully opened.
The Pro & all the members were friendly & very helpful.
I look forward to playing it in the summer

On first impressions I was concerned that the club would be too much me. The reason I see this is that the clubhouse is in an old Manor House and suggested it was above my station!

How wrong was I, the club members were very friendly and helpful. The staff were also very helpful.

The course was in great condition and each hole was different so held the interest. I would love to go back.

Overall really enjoyed it

Lovely course/layout, very well maintained. No catering facilities before 11:00a.m. only vending machine. won the 4 ball on NGCC website therefore great value for money. Would definitely recommend this course.

Wellingborough is one of the best courses to play in Northamptonshire, the greens are improving year on year and the setting, with Harrowden Hall as your backdrop, it is a fantastic venue.
