What The Club Says
Set against a beautiful backdrop, a round of golf at the The Welcombe Golf Club is a wonderful experience. Our par 70 course, complete with sparkling lakes and rolling countryside, provides a thrilling challenge to the experts and an exhilarating introduction for novices.
It's a unique course, stretching over 6178 yard, with three par five holes and five par threes. What's more, in 1998 we were proud to host the prestigious European Seniors Tour Ryder Event. And now you can tread the same fairways as those great old pros.

Golfing Weekend at the Welcombe Hotel and Golf Course
We arrived rather rushed on Friday afternoon, have driven up from Portsmouth, traffic was busy and what should have left me an hours grace, turned into 10 min before T time. It was a baking hot day, and the course was incredibly busy. The fairways were like concrete which meant we had some record drives over the weekend. A 245 yard 7 iron was my favourite. Both Matt and I have a handicap of 22, but having never played here before the technical aspect of this course was beyond our capability, coupled with the conditions of the fairway (solid). The greens were immaculate and well maintained, however with several being raised with runoff slopes that have to be seen to believed, it was challenging to say the least. We chose to walk, both Friday and Saturday, however with slow play and some rather poor etiquette from some, we took nearly five hours on both days. This coupled with the heat and undulating, sometimes mountainous, terrain, we chose to skip out T time today, preferringto recover after 10 long hours in the sun. Jamie in the Pro shop was really helpful, and all the staff at the club were great. The hotel was stunning and whilst a little tired, staff were friendly, food was good value and the spa and gym facilities were great. Booked through Your Golf Travel, a two night stay, three rounds of golf and half board, for £320.

It rained but what a rainbow
The Welcombe was golden and running fast. The greens were in good condition and the rough predominantly short. 4 hours with a short rain break, so a good pace of play.Reviewer Rating

Great course
Course is great, greens and fairways in lovely condition, with some challenging well laid out holes. Only couple of things that let the course down on the day when we were there was the tee boxes which were cut like the rough and in rather poor condition. And the rough seemed to eat golf balls, anything slightly in the rough and the ball is gone lol.Reviewer Rating

Lovely layout, buggy if you struggle to walk, good price but well used
I thought this a flat ie not elevated course - till I go there! Surprisingly elevated but walkable. Lay out is great but it is a well used course as it's part of Hotel. Challenging but only par 70 off whites. We did feel rushed as there were some very fast players behind us but once we let them through all good. Great value for money.Reviewer Rating
