What the club says: The tranquil setting of the course is the ideal place to unwind and enjoy the challenges of this testing course with its narrow fairways and small greens.
Many dykes crisscross fairways, making playing for position paramount. Copses again strategically placed reward the golfer who is straight off the Tee. Playing over a pond into a prevailing wind on the 12th hole, to a postage stamp size green, will test the most accomplished player. And if you think that is tough, wait until you arrive at the 15th. A feeling of total satisfaction will be yours when you see your ball land on the 15th green, and not in the water. The 16th hole off the Medal tee must be a most pleasing sight to any golfer who relishes a challenge. The sting is certainly in the tail at Wath Golf Club. The last 5 holes have ruined many a members monthly medal card.

Well impressed
Been a while since we played Wath. They had priced themselves out of our price range. But glad to see they have seen a bit of sense and is now playable for a reasonable price. All round good condition. If it wasn't for the odd little boggy parts you wouldn't know we have had the bad weather condition other courses are moaning about. Very well maintained from tees to greens. Greenkeepers on top of their game. Big thumbs up to them. Made very welcome in the proshop and bar. Please keep up the good work everyone. Would recommend and will visit again if they do not try and get too greedy again???Reviewer Rating

Quirky hidden gem with great facilities
I had been waiting a long time to play this course having been there twice in winter and been frozen off. The clubhouse, pro shop and practice facilities are surprisingly good and your immediate view of the course make you begin to realise how different it is to other courses. The lay out is intricate with quite a few crossing over holes and fairways, but once you navigate those this course appeals to anyone who likes a thinking course. Greens were great, tee boxes need a bit of work to make them a bit leveler, but that might be being hyper critical. The 5 par 3's are all really interesting and the use of water and different size and shape trees makes for a challenging round. The food in the very nice clubhouse was fine and the pro shop is well stocked with everything you need. Overall, definitely a course to play and one I would return to.Reviewer Rating

Enjoyable course some testing par 5's, very friendly in pro shop. Good one way system through the club.

After the recent deluge I expected a boggy course but it turned out to be perfect underfoot. A credit to the ground staff that this late on in the year it's in such good condition.

Course in decent nick considering the dry hot summer. Par 3's a definite plus with four of them around 150 yards. Some interesting holes and always worth another visit. Good service from pro and bar staff.

Very quiet day is a Monday here, but no food available.
Course was difficult as usual particularly the par 3's. Greens were fast but were showing damage from the hot weather in places. It has been in better
condition previously when we have played here.

Mainly flat open parkland course which is well laid out and a good challenge for any standard of player.

Lovely course, well worth a visit.
My brother-in-law and I have decided to try some of the courses in our local area we've not played before, this summer, instead of the usual staples, and, after a bit of research, decided to give Wath a go.We certainly weren't disappointed. A nice, not too taxing, track (we're both currently 21 handicappers thanks to the good folk at Golfshake), in good condition, with a nice mix of holes, all set in the greenbelt between Rotherham, Barnsley and Doncaster.
A helpful guy in the pro shop made sure we had directions for a couple of the less obvious green-to-next tee routes, after we told him it was our first visit, and we found the members and other staff very friendly.
Cost us a well-worth-it £20 each (after a 25% saving for booking online) and we'll be back for another crack at it in the not too distant future. Recommended.

Captain's Away Day, Excellent
Held my Captain's Away Day at Wath last Friday. Brilliant!The course is superb, challenging with super fast greens but fair.
The real gem though are the people. Everyone is friendly and relaxed but highly efficient and just geared to ensuring that their visitors have a great time.
Thanks again to Dawn and the catering staff, our members are still taking about your steak pie, to the bar staff and to Lewis in the pro shop. Great job everyone.

Good course, with testing par 5's, good card caused by a disaster on the short 15th with the pond grabbing three balls. Very friendly staff in the 19th, good food and beer.
