Wouldn't return

Course in very poor condition, greens were abysmal, too many par 3's and the layout was borderline dangerous having to cross fairways to the next tees. Pace of play wasn't great, and they charge nearly £30 for the privilege. I'd rather play my local muni any day!

I received a voucher as a gift to play this course and due to course closures struggled to use it within the said timeslot. It was assured by the manager it would be ok but refused by the pro shop. They did not even want to compromise 9 holes on quite Monday evening. Very disappointed , never used the course and don't think I ever will.

Tired and in poor condition

We played this as part of a weekend away and were not impressed. It's only slightly better than a municipal. Lots of GUR, poor bunkers and rough areas and generally in a tired condition. Didn't hang around much afterwards.

Played here last week. Course was typical of a parkland course with some nice holes, but few of real note. Water came into play in some holes and the highlight is definitely the 18th.
Not a long course, but the driver can be used on most holes.

Real disappointment was the greens. Despite relatively good conditions the greens were worse than I'd expect from a municipal. Patchy, slow and dead in places.

Good be a fun little course, but putting on greens like this left us all very frustrated. Expected more of Chester, but this is another of their courses which leave a lot to be desired.

Course very short and crammed. All we heard all day was “foreeeeeee”
Barman/Manager although only doing his job with current conditions, very rude and had no understanding of who had just walked off the course or not from our group. ( had not told the golfer “twice already” to be a metre apart, as he’d just walked off)

Good condition for time of year

Good condition for time of year, greens reasonably flat and enough sand in bunkers. New practice nets are an improvement.

Tight parkland course confined within bounds of housing estate. It doesn't play long and doesn't offer any exciting views. Hardly any water but some tricky bunkers. No winter greens in mid winter was a bonus though winter tees shortened course further, though this was welcome on the 233yard!! par 3 17th.

Goo value at 25 pounds. Not long though. Fairways were in good condition. Not that easy to find the next tee box. no map on scorecard and no signs. Good for beginners/improvers.

Short but tricky parkland course.

May be biased as this is my home course but this short but tricky layout is anything but easy. Since new green staff have come in the course is in great condition, though does struggle with drainage in the winter. That being said, work is ongoing to improve this. The club pro is excellent in terms of stock and teaching. Clubhouse is good but tired in some areas but new catering teams leave me optimistic. Great parkland course that's exceptionally affordable.

very tight indeed

played here after a gap of many years, I had forgotten just how tight it is. Drives require great accuracy, you pay heavily for a slice or a pull. Pin positions rather peculiar, some just six feet from the edge. Very irritated to be given a ticking off by a groundsman for playing off white tees, there was nothing to say don’t and, outside the top courses, most places don’t mind which tees you use, including my own very highly rated club. No way to treat a visitor. Members, pro and bar staff very pleasant.
