Sort the tee boxes

Most of the tee boxes are like upturned boats. What must be such a simple fix is clearly beyond the average greenkeeper here. Huge tee boxes with plenty of scope to partly close some and still have lots of room for regular play.

Which there is a lot of. From the moment you get there it’s very clear that this is.high volume course. Members saying they can’t get a teetime because of the number is societies and corporate days. There are much better course about that actually fee like a golf club. It cannot possibly be managed by anyone with an interest in golf.

Par 3 Castle course - last time on 3 lads playing with two clubs between them! Marshall did pass nearby, but they weren't challenged? All Standards on the course, as it is a feeder for the two 18 hole courses. Very slow, due to elderly 4 ball and youths.

Nicely maintained, a good challenge - but so slow, and standard is poo

Played in March 2022 on a Saturday afternoon, the weather was amazing, which meant everyone wanted to play golf. We played the Kings, teeing off at 1.45, so plenty of time to complete the round before sunset. However, we were queuing from the tee on the first hole. The fourball in front were held up, but they could barely get off the tee the standard wasn’t great.

The front 9 took 2 hours 45mins to complete….a complete joke, no sign of any course Marshalls anywhere, when we were on the 9th tee, we counted 7 groups of golfers on the 8th and 9th holes, it was so congested.

We then decided to replay the front 9 rather than sit on the very slow back 9, we managed to do the front 9 in 90 mins second time round just as the sun set.. .you need to sort this out, it ruins the experience.

It feels like the club is just worried about revenue and not the experience. It’s a great course and set up but you have to sort the timings out, 9 holes shouldn’t take this long.

Disappointing

Played the Earls today and didn\'t find it very enjoyable, just a bit of a slog. Rough has been left extremely penal, areas quite close to fairways where it is 4-5 inches and 90% of balls will be lost. We even lost a couple of balls in first cut. A busy course today on a Saturday and I think the presentation was probably the cause of our round taking 5 hours, we waited for most shots on most holes. \Also thought the greens were poor today, they were very slow and not especially true, plenty of bobbles.\Having said that, it\'s nice layout with lots of good holes. Had it been set up better and in better condition, I think it would be a very good course, a hard test (it\'s long!) but fair. On today\'s showing though I doubt we\'ll be back.

It was a good day weatherwise. The course was in reasonable condition but here were a lot of divots all over the course that had not been replaced, as well as pitch marks on greens. The course is quite long with some long walks between holes, particularly from 9th green to 10th tee.

Scratchy at times

Decent round of golf, originally started on the earls course but play was slow, 4 holes in 1hr20, moved to kings and enjoyed flowing 18. Course wet in places but to be anticipated with recent weather.

Wonderful course but...

The package break dinner was very poor. Hunters Chicken like cardboard. Fish and chips straight out of freezer. Not up to the standard expected for an expensive dinner/b&b and 2 rounds package. Had much better dinners with other overnight packages at much less expensive courses. Drinks vastly overpriced too!
