I went along to a starter clinic and i was greeted by the most warmest of welcomes anybody could wish for by another regular lady member. I was then introduced to the owners and other members whom all made me feel very welcome. fantastic instruction by Tim and Judith and was invited by a member to play a round afterwards. Fantastic course suitable for all levels of golfer. Excellent driving range and practice facilities. I have now signed up for the the 2 month taster membership and look forward to my next visit. For anyone looking for a small friendly club which offers friendly affordable golf this is the club for you. Enjoy!

Great course with only 9 tees but 2 flags for each hole yellow first nine and red back nine, some are on shared greens and others on two seperate greens. Great value for money at £12 during the week and £15 at weekends for visitors for the whole day, members pay only a small membership fee and only £4 per day to play all day. Greens are in excellent condition and is a very friendly place to play golf.

This is my regular course and is unbeatable value for money. It might not be the longest but you need to be accurate or your in the trees. It is quite popular and there can sometimes be a longish wait to tee off and another wait to start the 2nd 9 as its only a 9 hole course with 2 sets of flags.

I use this course on a regular basis and always enjoy it. I have never found the greens in anything but good play and they use winter play rules to protect both tee and greens. The driving range is very good and the shop assistant (sometimes Tim H ) very helpful giving advise on equipment.

This nine hole course is a begginers course or for jonouirs if you are looking for a challenge go to a diffrent course. This course Par 66 is in terrible codition with huge chunks in the middle of the green,if you are a golfer of a high standered this is not your course i would recomend The Belfry. This is a poor course and is over rated.The only reason i go there is because of the driving witch is one of the best i have been to.

Wonderful Course that is Open for All Golfers All Year. Offers very affordable Pay & Play Golf as well as a good value Membership for regular players.
A 9 Hole Course with 18 pin Locations still offers golfers a challenge. Despite being only a Par 66 and 4500 yards in length no one has ever shot lower then 65 the current course record.
Don't mistake this course as pitch and putt, because tree saturated rough makes finding the correct part of the fairways important. This course provides a test of shot accuracy rather then distance hitting. Long hitters tend to suffer on this course.

Sudbrook Moor Golf Club was founded in 1986 by PGA Professional Tim Hutton. Tim started his career with 6 years as assistant to 4 time Ryder Cup Captain, Dai Rees CBE and travelled extensively as a tournament player. He was Club Professional at Sleaford Golf Club for 12 years before designing and building Sudbrook Moor. Tim is an individual member of the Golf Foundation and has received The Sir Henry Cotton Award for meritorious services to junior golf. He was Midland PGA Professional of the Year in 1995. Tim is assisted at Sudbrook Moor by his family, Wife Judith who handles all secretarial aspects, son Simon who as manager of FineTurf is course manager, Simon's wife Fiona runs the Clubhouse and provides the menu on offer and Tim's youngest son Ben who is the youngest person to qualify as a PGA Coach and tournament professional, assists with teaching at the course between his tournament commitments.
Sudbrook Moor Golf Club may seem on paper like a walk on the park. At just over 4000 yards in length and with no Par 5s and 6 Par 3s in the 18 hole experience, many would dub the course easy. Its only pitch and putt many visitor can be hard saying as they walk to the first tee. However what people will find is a course that plays very tight with no forgiveness for anyone not finding the fairway off the tee. The rough is not a problem but the endless supply of trees and conifers often mean a wayward shot is punished by a chip sideways or backwards or even a declaration of unplayable lie.
Most of the greens are protected by bunkers which are quite deep and the narrow nature and steep over hanging faces make escape in the direction of the flag almost impossible. The Par 3 7th/16th is protected by a large pond which draws many a ball into it as golfers underhit into hit. Perhaps taking to little club or wanting to avoid over hitting the green where any long shot is punished by being out of bounds in the practice range.
The short nature of some holes brings players the choice of driving for glory or laying up and playing smart. Most people who try to drive the short 230 yard Par 4 4th/13th usually regret it and the same for those who try to cut the corner on the Par 4 9th/18th over the neighbours farmers field usually find themselves reloading.
The course is 9 holes but offers an 18 hole experience by having seperate greens or large double greens on each hole. The system plays so that on your first 9 holes you play to the yellow flags and then second time round you play to the red flags. The downside of course to this is with only 9 tees at certain times the course can be quite busy and congested making playing very slow and challenging. There are very few tee reservations at the club only, twice a month for monthly medals the course is closed to visitors and non-medal entered members. These reservations are always the 2nd Saturday or the Month and 4th Wednesday. It should also be noted that the club does not accept soceities as again they offer no reservations and want the course to be open to members and visitors as much as possible.
Over the last year the club has worked very hard to attract new members and casual vistors. The building of a driving range located right in the middle of the course between the 1st/10th and 9th/18th holes with attached Pro-Shop and Greenkeepers Shed, has proved very popular with members and general public just wanting to practice. A new practice green was constructed next to the range/pro shop right outside the clubhouse. It has six pin positions with breaks and slopes to contend. There is another putting green and a seperate chipping green located behind the 9th/18th green. A very original practice bunker has been installed with two heights of 'Lip' to clear. If you can get out of the practice bunker no bunker in the world will trouble you. A Training Bay is located at the end of the range where all the professional coaching takes place. This allows full one to one coaching with no fears of people watching you or seeing how you are doing. This is very well liked by beginners learn at their pace without fear of people sniggering or laughing behind them.
The club has a growing number of members nearly 1000 to date and offers very affordable pay and play golf via tickets purchased from the ticket machine on the driving range for Non-Members. Visitors are advised to bring coin change for the machine so as to be able to purchase their green fee tickets. Rangers do operate and don't have much tolerance for non-paying players. The course is very popular with beginner golfers, juniors and seniors due to the short length of the course and relaxed, friendly environment of the course. Alot of people play at Sudbrook Moor to learn the game of golf and then progress to the larger private members clubs when they reach a good standard of golf. Many people return to the club when they start getting older and find the 7000+ yard courses a problem to walk two or three times a week.
