Had a nice day out, nice location, friendly staff and members out on the course, Nice course layout with some nice tricky holes where plenty of water lies in wait, greens were a bit bumpy but looked like they were being treated so should be good in a few weeks. Will definitely visit again. :-)

Unplayable
Once a great local course ,not any more.Tees overgrown,fairways reasonable ,bunkers totally unplayable and greens that are willy, totally diseased and unputtable on...sadly it's a course heading for closureReviewer Rating

Shocking
I’ve always enjoyed playing here, and visit probably once every three years or so. It has always lacked investment, which is a shame because the location is perfect and the layout itself has real potential.But I was stunned at the condition I found the course in this week. The greens have been lost owing to insufficient irrigation - big bare patches of mud mixed in with moss. The majority of tees had at least an inch of grass on them, and the bunkers were awful. Almost all compacted and full of grass.
£20 for 18 holes is nothing short of daylight robbery. I won’t be returning.

Played on a day when the course was very wet. Would come back when the weather improves. A couple of good looking golf holes with water.

had a great day at stoke Albany golf club on Friday 50/46=96 finally broke the hundred
i am putting that down to great weather the course was in great shape putting greens were almost unplayable 3 weeks back but were in great condition on Friday i am beginning to see the putts know that always helps cheers brain for the company you played great golf shots that always encourages me to do better more positive thoughts helps at least my putting states are beginning to be consistent as i am trying to keep them below 40 putts per round last time out was 36 and at stoke was 16/20=36 no 3 putts on the front nine i hat an awesome drive 220 yards thats huge for me i usually be please with a 180 drive great day good company happy days

Friendly welcome and all four of us had our ups and downs. Most bunkers were very wet and almost impossible to play out of. Greens looked a lot faster than they were. Good time had by all

Greens very hard due to the frost , played better later on, fairways well kept , bunkers unplayable due to water and frozen .. Nice touch that they had put plastic ducks on the ice in the bunker !!! Made us smile

bBunkers full of water not playable. If you stay on the fairway it is very good a little wet in places but with all this rain it holds up very well. The Greens very good (a little quick). Over all very nice.

Open Course with Greens and Fairways in good condition all year round. Watch out for the Goose Poo and Bunkers with cloggy sand however.
10th and 11th catch many people out with water to the left and OOB to the right. High Handicappers might be wise to stay safe and leave the Driver in the bag for these two.

Sadly the critical reviews are all true1
Greens (actually often brown) all but unplayable, bunkers - compacted sand and weeds, grass too long and poor drainage. A pity because the location is superb. Attractive clubhouse - but little to offer in terms of food and drink. The prime function - i.e golf - of a potentially superb facility is self-evidently neglectedReviewer Rating

Stoke Albany

Needs support
It is what it is, needs investment but won’t improve if people don’t support it. Generally in good condition but let down by the greens. Suffered by the weather last year, very dry and mossy now. Most bunker are GUR. Course is open and appealing to all stands as a cheaper round it is acceptable.Reviewer Rating

Good course
After all the rain we have had the course was not in dad shape. The only problem was if you hit if the faraway the grasse was much to long and some of the bunkers where just mud. Needs a bit more TLCReviewer Rating

Nice course
Price on website £20. Actual £15. Very friendly in pro shop. Gave us free coffee whilst we waited for first tee. Course in excellent condition. Greens superb. Unfortunately there is no bar and no food to be had. So enjoy the magnificent golf then go to the pub in the village(Round played: Jul 2017 - Score: 131 Handicap: 28)
