What the club says: It is often said that Stocksfield is two courses in one. The first half is all played in fairways lined with native British Oaks, and Birches offering shelter from the breeze but a tough challenge requiring accurate play.
The second half is more open encouraging the golfer to open their shoulders and let loose... but there are still troubles ahead if you don't keep it on the fairway!

Lovely course
We visited this course with our society. We found it in decent condition considering all the wet weather we've had. As part of our visit we had a bacon sandwich & tea/coffee on arival and after our game we had a Sunday roast with pork, and I have to say the food was exceptional!! By far the best food we've ever had during our years of society golf. We'll definitely be back.Reviewer Rating

Nice Course but bunkers not so great
Stocksfield is a really nice course with some tight holes and can have some challenging greens and pin positions,The only issue is the Bunkers - The holes unto the 12th hole have really good sand in them, but anything after that, I wouldn't call it sand in the bunker more like stones and dusty gravel which is no fun as you cant get your club into it.
For some reason the 4th hole was on a temp green for the start of May which is not really acceptable as when we approached the green it was in really good condition

Great Course
Lovely course with fantastic views. Front and back 9?s interestingly different which makes for a good round of golf. Front 9 through the trees and back out in the open.Reviewer Rating

My second visit to Stocksfield and again the course was in excellent condition.The front 9 was as tight as ever with the back opening up

Nice course. Front nine is tight with tree lined fairways. The back nine opens out more. The course is well maintained and the club house was nice.

A tale of two halves
A really interesting challenge awaits the visitor as the front 9 winds its way through mature parkland with accuracy from the tee at a premium and strategy at the forefront. From the 10th onwards to give you a good chance at attacking on the way home. A big green framed game of golf chess well worth a visit.Reviewer Rating
