After a two-year, £20-million refurbishment, we are delighted to announce that St Mellion International Resort, in Cornwall, is now fully re-opened!
St Mellion International Resort is a surprisingly stylish and modern resort with a great golfing heritage. The multi million pound re-development includes a brand new 4 star standard, 80 bedroom hotel and extensive refurbishment of the existing clubhouse, and awaits the return of the European Tour from 2011 where it will play host the English Open.

Returned here nearly a month after playing the excellent Nicholas course only to be very dissapointed by the Kernow course. As I was on my own I wasnt able to play the Nicholas course, which last time I got a late tee time at £30, this time I had to pay £40 to play the Kernow. I can see they are building some new holes but in the meantime the back nine is a farce. There are temporary green on 16 and 18, the tee markers are for different holes, and some holes just seem to be squeezed in to make up the 18. As a 17 hanicaper I shouldnt be scoring 7 over, didnt play that well, but setup like this its very easy, not a proper golf course with a par 3 every second hole.

Played the Kernow and the "improvements" I don't think have been beneficial. What was once a very enjoyable course is now a slog and even hillier than before !

Great course, a good warm-up for the Nicklaus. The course is quite short but there are some very interesting holes, my favourite is the 10th, a par 4 reachable in 1 but trouble all around the green.

Sadly, this review will not do St Mellion justice, as I have played it in the past and it is top quality.
This review is based on a round played recently during a rebuild to the course in preparation for the English Open next year. A fantastic venue, but I recommend you leave your visit until all work is complete as it's a bit of a mess and the holes available can be half complete. Check with the club or website before playing.

Very Challenging
You will need your A game plus playing this course. Not only do you need accuracy but to score well you need length and then be a good putter. I do recommend you take a bit of time to actually enjoy the course as it does have some visually stunning holes. If you aren't fit enough for a long walk hire a buggy but be aware you have to stay on the paths and walk to your golf ball.Reviewer Rating

Great test for all
Great course which i would say is an exciting challenge for most golfers.Although the weather has been bad, the course was still in an ok condition and definitely value for money this time of year.
