An absolute delight in every way

My wife and I played on consecutive days in March 2018. The course had just reopened after the snow and rain so we were on temporary greens for the first of our two rounds. The course was in surprisingly good order considering how wet the course had been. We both enjoyed the course hugely. It is not long but accurate and straight hitting is required. The course is undulating to say the least so a full 18 holes gives quite a work out. The views of the surrounding peak district are beautiful and the course is obviously very well looked after by the green keeping staff. I would love to return and play again in the summer when the members inform me that the greens are fast and challenging. We received a very warm welcome from Patrick the pro and the bar/restaurant staff. Good beer and tasty food in the cosy clubhouse completed a very enjoyable trip to this little gem of a course. The friendly members are justifiably proud of their club and I would recommend a visit.

Beautiful and mature course, well worth the visit. Sloping fairways and very hilly but this only adds to the overall experience which is excellent. Lovely views as well. Tee’s are great, fairways are immaculate, the greens are also superb and run true, lastly the bunkers are challenging and are filled with a decent amount of quality sand. The pro shop is also well stocked but we didn’t visit the clubhouse but from reports its meant to be decent. Overall the experience was superb and I’d definitely recommend playing the course.

The course is a bit hilly not one you would play every day. The club house is good with a good menu.

A very challenging course in terms of very steep slopes. You need to be quite fit to walk round it but a good course to play.

Jewel in the Peak

A great course with lots of interest and spectacular views of the surrounding Peak District. I found this course to be a good test of my abilities, with some tricky holes. Whilst it is situated on a south facing hillside, the ups and downs are quite manageable.

Excellent condition and welcoming members and clubhouse. Some interesting holes. One of my favourite places to play but very hilly and can be exhausting in hot weather.

Society day

Sickleholme hosted our society day on 17th June. The organisation and catering were first class. The hot weather made this hilly course a challenge for some of our members but the course was in great shape and the views of the peak district are second to none.
