What The Club Says
Founded in 1898 Sickleholme is a small friendly club nestling in the heart of the beautiful Peak District of Derbyshire, some 13 miles from Sheffield, 16 miles from Chesterfield and 15 miles from Glossop. With an undulating parkland course of 6,064 yards (Ladies 5,399 yards) and stunning views, it is hard to find a more spectacular or enjoyable venue anywhere.

A scenic challenge.
Jack in the pro-shop and the rest of the staff we met at Sickleholme GC were very helpful and welcoming.We booked our fourball reservation with Jack in advance, due to us visiting the area for a wedding. We were also able to take advantage of the county card rate, which made it particularly good value for money, although it is worth the full green fee.
We are a mix of handicaps from 9 to 25, all of whom equally enjoyed this challenging course. We agreed that if we’d have had time during our trip, it would have been nice to have played it a second time now that we are more familiar with the various elevated greens and tees, and inclined fairways.
Considering all the dry weather we have had recently (mini heatwave), the course is in great condition.
We ate in the clubhouse after and the food was good.
If you are considering playing Sickleholme GC, do.
If you struggle getting around on courses that aren’t flat, don’t rule this one out before seeing if you can hire a buggy.

Great Course
Great gold course, very elevated and lots of sloped lies. Was very tricky on a very windy day. Enjoyed the surrounding views.Reviewer Rating

Nice Course
Played here in September 2024. First time visit and thoroughly enjoyed the course. Very undulating but fair. Course was in great condition, the greens, tees, fairways and bunkers all in good order. The members were friendly and welcoming. Nice clubhouse and reasonable prices for food and drink. Will return!Reviewer Rating
