A fantastic course - really glad I played it. Played it the day after Quinta Do Lago - and what a different kettle of fish! The plus points: Fantastic course, in first class condition, superb fairways, perfect greens and troublesome bunkers - and of course, the views. The negatives: for a course that charges what they do for the green fee, the clubhouse is outdated and the locker room a shocker in respect of facilities. They need updating. The time it takes to play a round! We played after a 3 and 2 ball and whilst they dithered, I don't think we would have played any faster anyway. We didn't see a marshall at any time to speed things along (unlike Quinta, who were excellent at keeping people going) and our round was a little under 6 hours! They can surely do something about this?

Played twice early April in glorious sunshine. Really rate this as a top drawer course. It can be a little poorly maintained in places but play it off the White tees and you have one hell of a course to think your way around. Love the last hole, if your match goes down to the 18th, which it did on both days.

Having heard many good things about this course I was looking forward to it and I am sorry to say I was bitterly disappointed.
At the price this course should be much better. Whilst nicely laid out and offering excellent facilities, it was not (to my mind) anything spectacular. The day before I had played Vale Do Lobo and maybe therefore spoilt, but, if you consider the const differential of EUR 10 between the two, I would play Vale Do Lobo as a preference.

We played this course June 07, it has been hot for a while and the fairways were taking a beating. The course itself is very well laid out, starting in pines, moving to the sea and then to a series if lagoons. We had heard alot of good things about this course, but the reception that we got from them and the custmoer service was appalling. We played Victoria the next day, and they were worlds apart. San L. is a nice course but your money, in my opinon, is better spent on other much more interesting courses in Portugal

This a yet another Superb Algarve Golf Course with a tremendous layout. Holes 6 , 8 and 18 would fit on anybody's top 18 in World. Greens are lightening quick in November, hate to think what they are like in Summer. Loads of Bunkers though most are avoidable with a little thought apart from 10th where it is right in front of green and you cannot see it. Clubhouse is a little antiquated, practice area is good, staff are mainly friendly , Paulo the starter is a good guy. Not quite as testing as Victoria or Monte Rei, but a must play course. Overall as with all Algarve courses play early miss the crowds. 3hr 15min at 0800 tee time......5hr 30min at 1000 tee time. Take your pick.

A lovely golf course. Before I went and played this course, someone told me it was for them the Rolls Royce of golf, so I think I went there with too high expectations. It is excellent with great views and the staff there could not be freindlier. A good test f golf and a lovely setting.

Having read great reviews for this course I was very much looking forward to playing this championship course. However, I have to say, considering how much we paid, I don't think this course is way above others in the area, in particular the Quinta courses. The front nine play well but give no room for error and the back nine were greatly maintained and much better than the front. Overall worth a visit but is overpriced so I doubt I would play it again.
