What the club says: Rochester & Cobham Park Golf Club, was founded in 1891, a private members' club which allies an interesting history with an outstanding course which was redesigned by renowned golf course architect Donald Steel in 1997. We acquire independent reports on a regular basis and use these to continually
improve the course. Testament to this was being appointed by England Golf to host the England v France International match and the Brabazon Southern Qualifier in May 2012. Donald Steel attended the match and commented "The staging of an event as important as England's match with France is another stamp of approval for Rochester & Cobham and showed how well the course's challenge appeals to all tastes and skills. There is plenty of reward for fine play but, at a less exalted level, there are no daunting carries, no
hidden terrors, no endless searching for balls and no vast water hazards. It teases rather than torments, the overwhelming feeling is of a delightful place to play".

Rochester and Cobham is conveniently situated ten minutes from the M25 and Dartford Crossing in Kent. Easily reached from London by car or train we are ten minutes' drive from Ebbsfleet International where trains run four times an hour to London St Pancras and take only 17 minutes. We offer a friendly atmosphere, excellent golfing facilities and a clubhouse with a relaxing environment. We are proud to be a members club but we are nevertheless delighted to welcome visitors and societies.

One of the best parkland courses in Kent

Just played two weeks after Regional qualifying and the course was in superb condition. The course is hidden away off the A2 and is a delight. The clubhouse is lovely with a terrific balcony for watching the 18th approaches. Facilities are top class and staff are very friendly. Practise areas are close to the first tee with the range also adjacent, but not suitable for drivers of the 300 yards variety. Fairways are wide and well maintained and on the front nine easy to see your landing areas. The back nine becomes a little more tricky to find and position. The real strength of the course is the green complexes which are well defended and the greens themselves beautifully paced, consistent and reward a good knowledge of their slopes. All in all this is a great day out. Played on a Friday so a little more expensive than the bargain county card rate mid week but compared to The Wildernesse which has become pricey I know which one I prefer.

Enjoyable Society Day

Broad fairways and challenging greens were the lasting impression of this course. On the day we visited the wind was a factor particularly on the long hole 10 which tested everyone. Great day.

Considering the amount we have had recently the course was in good condition and well drained. Rough was just about right for standard play with it causing problems but not needing long searches to find your ball. Some of the friendliest staff that I have ever met serving up lovely ham, egg and chips.

A Glorious Hidden Gem - 5 Star Course

This came on my radar after a friend recommended it and having viewed the course on-line and seen the Green Fees compared with competing quality courses across the County felt compelled to give it a go.

I was not disappointed. With a County Card the weekday Green Fee of £50 is a relative bargain for a course of this quality and consistency. I'd describe as a cross between The London Club and Tandridge GC and far better value.

There may be a lack of overall wow factor and perhaps even a lack of standout holes but that's because there a really good holes throughout especially on the back nine.

Interesting green complexes with fast rolling greens, intelligently placed bunkers and run off areas for loose shoots. Even the long grass rough was set back far enough to punish genuinely poor shots rather than just decent shots that rolled across the hard dry fairways.

The ability to make use of proper practise facilities as well gets them more kudos with a separate putting and chipping area as well as a full grass range. You can see why they are able to host Open Regional Qualifying.

RCGC was really hard to fault.

Great course

We played it 2 weeks before the regional qualifying for the Open and so course was in great condition. The rough was being allowed to grow higher and thicker but we were able to find our balls in it even if we sometimes couldn't advance it too far. There are no water hazards but plenty of trees. Greens were fast but not too slick as greens are sloping and there are some devilish places were pins could go. Well worth a visit if you can as you are made to feel welcome

Stunning

This is possibly the best course in the South-East of England. Immaculate Greens and an array of different types of hole mean I used every club in my bag for a change.
