What The Club Says
The course was designed by Willie Park Jnr and was first played in July 1909 and is something of “a Little Gem”. It continues to surprise first-time visitors with its neat and tidy layout and plush fairways. It is a parkland type course built on free draining chalky downland and, as such, is ideal for winter golf although fairway watering ensures superb condition all year round. Whilst not a long course at 6106 yards, it provides a good golfing challenge.

Course in great condition
The best condition course we have played this year. Ignore the building work to the clubhouse, this is one of the best courses in Kent.Reviewer Rating

First time and won't be last time
Nice course. A bit of growth means fairways shaggy and rough, rough. Greens much more suttle than expected and slower compared to practise green. Didn't really do the course jsutice so will definitely have to play there againReviewer Rating

In great shape
Hats off to the Greenkeepers, you would not believe the amount of recent rain looking at the condition of the course, particularly the greens.Reviewer Rating

Play if you get the chance
I was lucky to play here in a society. It is a beautiful looking course in very good condition. I walked into the pro shop to see if they had a yardage chart as I had never played it before so wasn't sure where any hazards may lurk. Like most courses nowadays they didn't have any as most people use phones, watches and apps for distance information. The pro informed me that the only water was a reservoir inside the loop of holes 4, 5 and 6 and it was OOB, but shouldn't really come into play. He showed me a map of the course on the wall outside the pro shop to confirm no hidden hazards. Unfortunately my plying partner managed to hit a tree on the 5th and ricochet across the fairway into the reservoir, so it is possible to find it. Trees are a large part of the course most holes are tree lined. The good thing is that there isn't heavy rough under the trees so you have a good chance of finding your ball but will have to manufacture the next shot. The greens are true with delicate slopes. A very nice speed that means you don't have to hit the putts hard but not too fast that you just get scared of hitting it. All round a lovely course to play and how envious I feel of the members there.Reviewer Rating
