Poor Prenton
The website shows a very interesting and challenging golf course . When I booked back in March I asked do you play of full T's & greens YES was the reply As a golf society we have played winter golf for the last five years trying to find courses that don't automatically go on (temps), What a disappointment when we arrived to find that every T was a temp. I was misled from the very start of my contact with the club, some of our guys hadn't finished their round and they shut the clubhouse leaving nowhere to get changed or have a beer. Greens were great but the rough is just too long in places. It is unfairly punishing as it is not like wispy rough of links but thick, lush grass and if you manage to find your ball even a few inches off the fairway there is literally no shot to be had. Really needs cutting down as it is basically unplayable in places.

Very nice Parkland course. Generally well designed with some challenging holes. However, beware of wayward Tee shots from 5,6,9,10 and 11.
Clubhouse made us feel welcome. Very clean and well managed. Good food and drink. Strongly recommended for a visit.

Played on a society day.
Made to feel very welcome, especially by the members the veterans in the car park we're extolling how good the course was playing. They weren't wrong. Greens were in good condition,and considering the amount of rain the course was relatively dry. Not standing water only a little damp under foot.
An enjoyable round and a good test of your game. Worth a visit.

Putting?
Didn't hit enough greens in regulation, and couldn't get the speed of the greens which mean't to many three putts.(Round played: Apr 2019 - Score: 86 Handicap: 11.3)

Played here earlier in the year, course was wet, so it was a very enjoyable knock in the sunshine with a couple of mates who are members. Course was in very good condition, considering the weather conditions we've had just lately.

Challenging but fair
Course recovering in places due to lack of rain however the greens were all in excellent condition although played slower than the practice green and could be due a cut.(Round played: Aug 2018 - Score: 85 Handicap: 16.7)

Very boggy, can only be expected after the rain we've had. Greens were in good nick considering. Will definitely return to the course when its dried out a bit more.
