I found this course to be quite a challenge but also very forgiving for consistent golfers.
The back 9s condition seems to be poorer than the front 9 but other than that it was a lovely course and a pleasure to play on.

Commendable that the course has no restrictions and is open to all. £29 for a round on this course is currently nvg vfm since the greens are VeRY soft and have footprint undulations extensively which makes putting a nightmare if you care about your score! Having said that the staff are very amenable and the ground staff are making slow but steady progress in course improvements despite the occasional sabotage from the local "community" . If you are on your game, then there are many holes that you can chew up and spit out! Togrher with several more challenging holes for a fun round. If you are off your game you'll be crying into your pint of very nice extra cold Guiness that the great clubhouse staff will sell you with a smile.

A shortish course with six par threes - most of which are challenging. Interesting holes and very well kept greens. Lots of run on the fairways in summer. A bargain for Seniors at £10.50.

Played the Cray Valley course on 17 March 2012 for the first time in a few months, having previously found it a reasonable place to get some golf in.

I know we're just coming out of the winter months but tee boxes were in a terrible state - a lot of bare mud patches, hardly any grass, a lot of sand and you couldn't get a level stance on many of them. The fairways ranged from bald to lumpy and the 18th was simply mud; no grass to play from and not easy on a par 5 to be trying to hit a 3 wood off mud. The greens were lumpy, covered in sand and must have added a minimum of 6 shots to our rounds thanks to untrue bobbling putts.

The clubhouse on the Cray course is based in 1976 with shoddy facilities that just seem to be getting worse, and I'm no golfing snob by any means but allowing people to play in jeans and trainers just doesn't do the club any favours.

For the green fee of £28 you'd expect some course maintenance but this place just seems to be taking your money and going downhill fast. Shan't be back in a hurry.

Playing well

Considering the amount of rain we've had lately the course is in very good condition. Clubhouse serves good cappuccino.

Lovely little course

Great local place with a full 18 and now two 9 hole tracks which gives you a nice challenge . Friendly staff and usually in good condition. One of the first places I played and as so close like to go when I can steal some free time .
