Difficult but beautifully manicured greens and difficult tee shots although a short course this is by far one of the toughest I have played. I didnt play well which exacerbated the problem.
Some lovely riverside parts and as the course is built on a hill good views although every fairway slopes sideways so your drives curl loads!
I had a breakfast afterwards which was average. The quality of the basic items (sausage egg and bacon) considering we are in Devon which is big on fresh natural ingredients the frozen sausages lacking in meat content were a let down.
I payed 20 quid through teeofftimes and this represented good value.

Excellent challenge
This is a great course and excellent value. The tricky greens make you think on every putt and the variety is really good. Would happily play here again and again. Didn't use the club house ot facilities due to current restrictions so could only score as good. Held off on 'excellent' scores as these should be hard to come by!Reviewer Rating

Short hilly course. On Dartmoor which means often open when others closed as fast draining. Great greens. True ,fast and a good test. Few bunkers. 17 and 18 cross so beware. There are no share pd greens. The clubhouse is being renovated and food is improving and good value.

Nice course with some challenging holes. Good for all levels of golfer. However I found the course layout quite poor, a shared green and cross over fairways. You had to be careful on a few holes which meant waiting for other groups to play which slowed things down. Greens were in a fair condition but expected better given the time of year.

Course in very good condition when we played in early September, but may flood easily in winter months.
Disappointed the club house was all locked up when we finished our round @ 8-15pm as we were looking forward to something to eat.

shortish but challenging magnificent big rolling greens is this courses big protection be prepared to 3 put . enjoyable day out

Very good course, hilly in places, local members playing few holes and cutting in a real pain and quite rude, would play again in better weather

Group of 34 in front (Society Day) pace of play extremely slow, at the turn just under 3hrs - walked off after 10 holes

18 temp greens on the side of a hill. In my view the course should be shut if it's that unplayable. Temp tees were also not very good

Turned up to play on a wet day in July (30th July 2019) and was told that no-one ha dbeen on the course. This was at 1pm, but changed and as an afterthought, I put my gear back in my car. 3 ball all arrived and off we went. Started about 2pm, had a few heavy downpours where we took a break, but still wet and in need of some sustenance, we headed down the 18th at 6:10pm...only to see that our cars were the only ones in the car park and the clubhouse and bar had been locked up. So dripping in wet clothes we had no option of a shower, a dry place to change into dry clothes or even a toilet break. I was just so please I\'d put my shoes and change of clothing back in my car, or else I\'d have had to return again to collect them. Course was ok though, either very hard or very soft (due to the rain), so chipping around the greens was like tossing a coin.
