Midweek price is currently only £8 and this in no way reflects the condition of the course. For winter golf it was very good, unlike my golf. Tees were smooth, although a couple were on tee mats, fairways were neat and striped up, greens looked like they had been recently worked on and holes were evident but still ran smooth and true but were a little slow.

A very enjoyable course to play and well worth a look, I'll be adding it to my circuit and playing there again.

After reading some of the views expressed by previous visitors I really didn't know what to expect from this course...

But I must say I was pleasantly surprised. The majority of fairways are tree lined and well defined, not too short. Bunkers are strategically placed on fairways and around greens, which are smooth, quite quick and a challenge to read.

Course is a little on the short side, and 'big hitters' will find some of the par 4s easily reachable, but challenging par 3s and difficult greens counter this.

Very good for a council run course, greens are well maintained.

Pro shop is well stocked and staff helpful and polite.

Club house is a seperate building which houses the sports hall etc... It is clean and serves a variety of drinks and bar meals/snacks.

Hard to believe that this is a municipal.

A well laid out course, making the most of natural features. Tees were good although some were a little uneven, fairways a huge and well maintained, greens are nicely shaped, smooth and quick with some tricky contours, and bunkers were nicely raked .

Don't let the yardage fool you, what it lacks in distance it makes up for in many other ways.

A challenge to a reasonable golfer, yet forgiving to the beginner, and at £13 a round it won't break the bank.

This is a short, tight course. It is dismissed by many golfers, but more than a few have been taken by surprise by the challenges it presents, and one or two of them have found it all too much for their pride and walked off!

Being a public course, it does suffer slightly from the 'less caring' element, with the odd discarded drinks bottle dumped carelessly in a ditch (a few metres from one of the many wastebins!), but overall the course is well kept.

Situated across a steepish burn valley, the legs get plenty of excercise as each valley side is climbed twice.

The associated sports facilities provide bar, restaurant, toilet, shower and changing facilites. The club shop is now freshly stocked with all the usual equipment.

Bargain membership

£385 for a years golf and very rarely a Saturday competition. All holes are different with some good birdie chances and as i found out, an easy 10 as well. Good tee times available, friendly staff and players. Was a member here two years ago before being a two year journeyman with big debit card hits and wanted steady golf and not 'first time available 1040 etc'. Good greens, fairways and good sanded bunkers unlike some courses with a light dusting over mud. On-site covered driving range and chipping area. Do not be put of by course length or par 69.Highly recommended and food over the road at the complex is good and cheap. Try it!!!!
