The course hasn't been up to scratch over the past few weeks, however the last time i played the course it was a lot better and i was impressed with the condition of the fairways and the rough. The condition of the greens are always very good at Newbold which again is till in good condition now.

Good council course with a mix of holes. Not in bad nick and a good price especially as we paid £17.50 on a Sunday morning!

Yes I agree with the last few reviews, the fairways were can alright length but covered in grass clippings, don't understand why catchers aren't used? The new Golf Pro up there is very good, I've had a series of lessons with Jonathon now and it's been very worth while.

Awful\Could be very very good if a little effort was spent on the maintenence rough too long- fairways long and covered in grass clippings .\Lovely mature sourroundings just cut the grass!\

I\'ve played here a few times over the last two years, most recently last week I played nine holes before a lesson. The course was in pretty decent condition, and it's always a a good test. Of note however the new Pro is very good ! Sorted out a bad slice I had in about 20 minutes.

Could be a lovely course, but grass on fairways were very long, and grass cuttings left on the rough made it very hard to find your ball, if your shot went slightly wrong. With some care this could become a nice course once again, but i don't intend to visit it again any time soon.

To be fair we only paid £8 each as seniors so we shouldn't expect too much but we got the impression of a nice course spoiled by lack of funds. The fairway grass was very long, covered in daisies and dandelions. Just off course the grass had been cut but all the loose grass left laying. We took over 4.1/2 hours to play and at least 30 minutes of that was spent searching for balls on or just off the fairways. The greens were also very bumpy. A pty because there are some interesting holes but we will not be returning anytime soon.

Terrible condition. Rough was like a jungle Fairways far too long along with the greens. Lost 2 balls on the fairway. Used to well run course now it's just throw as many people on the course to make money. Will not be returning.

Played this course on an awful day. It was not in good condition and very poorly signposted. Would possibly ?o back again. Would be better prepared and it is definitely not a course for anyone to play who has difficulty walking up hills. Needs better clubhouse and changing facilities.

Tough course but always enjoy playing it, no real club house but a pub right next door that does good food. play it in the summer and you'll enjoy it far more, be warned though its got some major hills
