What the club says: Originally formed in 1975 as a 9 hole course, Little Lakes Golf Club has received substantial investment and remodelling to create what is today one of the most popular golf clubs in the county. The current 18 hole layout opened in 2000 to much acclaim and has rapidly established itself as a popular venue for many society, corporate and county union events.

The course, built on the edge of the dramatic Wyre forest (spectacular in the Autumn), is a traditional parkland course with a unique feel for encouraging shots more akin to links golf. Many water features have been added to enhance the course and to further develop the name and image of Little Lakes

Four of us played on Wednesday afternoon, we had the course to ourselves. Considering the rain we have had apart from a few wet patches of rough the course was in great condition. Every hole is different and tests your concentration as stray shots get punished. Beautiful country side with the added bonus of Bambi, rabbits and a stunning hawk all made for a great experience. After our game the staff in the clubhouse were welcoming and the food good

Heavy hollow tinned greens in August drought

Course has potential, sadly whoever is running the show hasn't got the same potential. course badly needs a lot of water. I'll add members are very friendly and bar and food / drink excellent tbh. but a good course is all about quality tee's and greens and this had neither on my visit. I'm glad I played but won't be back in a rush. nice lodges tho and pool.

lovely course, great scenery, tricky

i have played this course multiple times. it is not long, but does not have to be. there are some fantastically tricky holes. uphill, downhill, left to right doglegs, right to left dog legs, blind shots........this little gem has it all. great scenery as well, running through the seven valley. when the course gets hard due to dry weather, even more of a challenge to keep it on the short stuff. green/bunker condition very good. swimming pool on the facility, if you fancy a dip after a round of golf that has it all.

Very good

I played the course on 08/06/2022 and found it very good. Tiring walk is an understatement.
I had seen an earlier review mentioning the 10th hole being confusing and i totally agree. There were 4 of us standing on the tee and in front of us were 2 fairways and the tee board with a hole layout on wasnt very clear. My 3 partners all said it was the right hand fairway but i was convinced it was the left. I suggested we all played it as we each thought.
I was correct so when you play it for the 1st time just go for the left hand fairway on the 10th tee.
We also had a great carvery afterwards so just go and enjoy the complete set up

I was a member years ago when Mark Lang managed the course and pro shop excellent. There is no longer a pro shop, and the course is not in the condition it was. This course has massive potential but the new management don't seem bothered, perhaps the cabins are there money maker.

Course in good condition for this time of year, however, the greens were very poor. Looks as thought there has been some sort of disease and most greens are full of small holes which affect putting. Such a shame.

One of the most fun courses to play in the West Midlands. Love the elevation changes with elevated tees and greens. The sloping fairways don't always offer a fair bounce so placement off the tee is often key. Course was looking healthier and better cared for than last time I played. One of the best value rounds of golf you will find at only £15 and some of the best exercise you will ever get walking all the hills.

Decent Course but no one in pro shop.

Decent course, quite tricky in places. We booked online and when we arrived there was no-one around so had to play without scorecards.

A decent course with position key off some of the tees. Enjoyable round made better by the fact that we had no one in front or behind for most of the round. Tee boxes a little long but greens were very good and certainly acceptable for 15 sheets.
