Two different challenging courses

Fairways on the old course suffered during the hot summer.

Definitely worth a visit.

Because of the heat it was a bit yellow. Would love to play again once we've had some rain.

Renowned as one of the best courses in Bedfordshire, and probably the first place Nick Faldo won an open competition (as a junior). The course is well laid out and a delight to play, although this year it is looking rather brown due to the very sunny weather, and no rain for 5 weeks. Bunkers were a little variable (a member I played with complained of no sand in one, but there was plenty in ALL the ones I visited). We played from the back tees on a windy day, and the course showed it's teeth especially with erratic bounces off the hard ground. Greens could have been quicker, but with so much sun, it's good that they leave some grass so they don't burn badly. Fairways were very dry and 'sunburnt'. Tees were immaculate, and overall course was as you would expect for a County Senior Championships.

Fantastic course.

The Carthagena is a spectacular course to play on. From the flyover it is already promising but once actually on the course its so much better.

Must visit.***

Great course ,the greens are hard to read, tight fairways raked bunkers. Short rough. Drive straight and you will score well. I scored 36 points of 14 HC, Nice club house too.

Stuck in the old

Played here a few weeks ago, really enjoyed the course and found it really enjoyable until we went into the clubhouse. The staff behind the bar were welcoming and friendly which is more that can be said for their members. Old clubs like this need to catch up as those members aint going to be around for ever. Shame it spoilt a nice course.

A lovely club and course. Great views over the course from the club house. Good food at reasonable prices. A picturesque course that regularly demands accuracy over distance. A challenge - particularly for the first-timer - but a challenge I wouldn't mind another go at!
