Golf course in good condition well presented greens very good, fairways burnt, dry in places due to recent good weather. Choice of meals excellent just a shame the non alcoholic Guinness is £5.15 a can ?

Houghton Golf Club
Played Houghton on Saturday and it was the n near perfect condition. The nice weather was a contributing factor,but the course was also well maintained. The only small gripe I have is that I managed to lose a couple of balls just off the fairway. I know this is part and parcel of the game but I was barely 2 yards into the first cut. Maybe a little more trimming and removal of the mown grass would prevent players being penalised for slightly of centre drives. Other than that I couldn't fault the course and the cleaners b itself. Course is fantastic to play and in excellent condition. Would like there to be more sand in the bunkers as just feels like playing from a firm ground.

Enjoyable and playable course with great view
Early April and the course is in great condition. Fairways are generous and course is playable. Makes use of elevational changes well and enjoys some stunning views. Good value.Reviewer Rating

Great condition
The recent rain has helped the fairways according to the locals. Greens in great nick. Let through by a slow three ball in front so pace good. Shame I messed up the 18th.(Round played: Aug 2018 - Score: 98 Handicap: 17.1)

Superb
Played mid May 2018. Course was in fantastic condition, was very windy but it was consistent so easily playable. Very few holes played directly into the wind. The greens were running fast(very fast) and true. Few hills but very walkable, nice layout of the course no holes too samey. No mental rough unless you are a mile off line, a nice challenge. I visited with 2 friends from Durham City and felt obliged to post this review on behalf of the 3 of us . It was a very windy day and there had been significant rain preceding our visit not that you could tell from playing the course which was in first class condition throughout .
We were met by very friendly professional and his assistant and on the course we made a point of telling the Greenkeeper how highly we thought of the course.It the was a very challenging round we have all played better but the views the excellent condition of the course and the odd well played hole meant an excellent day for us all.
We rounded off the day by sampling your excellent food and drink and left with a vow to return soon.
