Having warmed up on the slightly mediocre practice facilities, you are immediately faced with a risk and reward situation off the first tee. With the green in reach for many golfers, the idea of making birdie or eagle on the first is a tempting thought, but with trouble down the left and trees on the right, the risk could be considered higher than the reward.
The par-3 8th hole is one of the signature holes on the course. With most golfers hitting a mid iron over water into a green surrounded by bunkers, this hole provides a stern challenge at the end of a tough opening 9-holes.
The front nine holes require strategically placed tee shots and careful approaches in order to score well, but a different challenge is faced on the par-4 12th. This long and straight par-4 will test your long game like no other hole on the course. A good drive and a well-struck long iron are required to hit this green in regulation - a birdie is a rare occurrence on this hole.
The closing holes are not the most challenging holes you will ever play, but a lapse in concentration could be a fatal mistake with plenty of water and strategically placed bunkers waiting to punish wayward shots.
Overall, a good golf course with plenty of interesting features, but too many blind tee shots and crossing fairways are a negative feature on what is otherwise a challenging and well maintained golf course.

Good value
A very nice course to play offering good value if you are in the area. We had to wait for almost an hour for a buggy as it was Captains Day and very busy but otherwise a good experience and would play again if in the area. Practice facilities are ok with a short game and putting area and a range of sorts using your own balls.A very suitable course for beginners and would offer enough of a challlenge to more experienced golfers too.
