This course was in great condition and didn't disappoint. It's one of the best courses in Sheffield. Layout and condition were both great.

Nice course worth playing
First time playing Hallamshire, gift voucher from my daughter. Friendly welcome in pro shop, good practice facilities. Course was quiet when I played it, so pace of play at my own discretion which was good to take in lovely surroundings. Course in good condition, a few bare patches on the fairways presume due to dry spell. Greens great though, quite quick took a few holes to get use to the speed. Some tough par4s into prevailing wind/breeze. Nice looking par 3s. A few inclines to negotiate but not too bad on the legs. A little pricey but well worth playing. Clubhouse looked inviting but didn't have time to visit after round.Reviewer Rating

Really memorable holes
Perfect greens to putt on Easy to get the ball rolling at a nice pace ,no bumps or pitch marks. Some really memorable holes ,great variety,changes in direction and elevation. Really pretty par 3 17th . Very polite and friendly people in the pro shop and the Clubhouse bar 19th hole.Reviewer Rating

Relentless ????
Such a tough test, particularly the day before the Sheffield plate. Course as expected in great nick. Great mixture of holes. Hang in there for the first 4 holes and things start to get a fraction easier???? Excellent views of the local countryside if the golf is nothing to shout about.(Round played: Aug 2019 - Handicap: 11.5)

One of Yorkshire?s finest.
Played early Jan, course in great condition, greens excellent and all tees in use. Would rate in the top 3 courses in Yorkshire (& there are a lot of good ones). Scenic, undulating, lovely par 3s and testing shots over the ravine that runs across a number of holes. The winter rate of ?25 midweek was a bargain. Highly recommended.Reviewer Rating

Always stunning & difficult!
With the wind hitting over 50 miles an hour at times this was a real test. Fluffling a drive along the floor for 150 yards was sometimes a cracking shot!!!(Round played: Sep 2018 - Score: 90 Handicap: 18.9)

probably best in South Yorkshire
Course in excellent condition. Tough but fair. Played it on a very calm day and struggled. Hats off to the members who play it week in week out. A month of practice before my next visit ?(Round played: May 2018 - Score: 85 Handicap: 11.3)

Quirky course not as hilly as some say
Fantastic course and well worth adding to your list to play. Super friendly venue and excellent layout with some great views across the moors.When I played the greens were superb and conditions throughout excellent. There are some lovely holes and some quirky holes and this is a course that will provide fun and a challenge for all golfers - it is also a course I would love to play again with a few blind shots which you immediately learn you should have played differently.
I particular enjoyed the par 3 6th with its elevated tee, the short par 4 7th which is downhill and almost driveable and the tough quirky 8th hole with bridge to stop you having to cope with part of the hill. The 8th was the first time I noticed the hills and after that it was long forgotten for me.
The final stretch is also nice with a linksy feel with the heathland heather. Get this on your must play list !

Round played 13th June 2016. Society Day - played 9 holes in the morning, and 18 in the afternoon. The welcome and service from all the staff was outstanding. The food during the day was exceptional, and presentation and standard of the course again outstanding. Back for another Society Day in July. Thank you to all the staff who made for such a good day today.

Played December 17th travelled from Warwick only to be told the 6th hole was closed and any drive landing on fairway should be placed on semi rough been playing golf for 35 years and never heard this rule not told this on telephone when booking tee time and to be charged £25 very dissapointed

When I recently played at Hallamshire, I found the course to be in immaculate condition with extremely fast and true greens, especially for the time of year. The course itself was very interesting, with some particularly good holes in the 6th, 13th and 17th. The clubhouse was nice, and the staff were friendly. Would definitely recommend. Some would say it is a bit pricey at £60, but to me it seems like good value for money considering the quality of the course.

I played Hallamshire the other week and I was pleasantly surprised. I had been told that the greens were in bad shape prior to my visit by a friend, but I thought they were of an extremely high standard. The course was in great condition and overall, it was an enjoyable experience and I will definitely be back!

Awesome views, fantastic course. Greens quick and testing but in excellent condition. Tricky in bits and very up and down but a low score is possible. not for me though...too much rain!

Played this course with a member so only payed £15. This course is by far the best I have played in the Sheffield area - the greens were very true and an absolute joy to putt on. Great views and a good test of golf. I have read that the Hallamshire is a bit over priced or over rated but to play on greens of that quality you would expect to be paying well over a £100 a round at top courses.
