This course has great potential with some beautifully shaped holes and mature woodland. However, it is seriously down at heel with tatty tees, yardage boards so badly faded as to be unreadable, poorly maintained greens many of which have large bare patches. The bar was pretty tatty, too, with slow, ungracious service. My coffee was undrinkable and there was no fresh milk. The pro shop was closed. At £27 for a round it is over-priced: worth a tenner, I'd say. I won't be returning.

Excellent course in good condition. Very reasonable fees. Very helpful pro and very accommodating. Have booked to play again next week even though it's a trek from Bath. Brilliant day...

When you arrive and see the first and eighteenth you think this looks great. Dont be fooled the rest of the course is in a poor condition. The bunkers are totally unplayable due to stagnent water sitting in them. The fairways are like the first cut and the greens are moss. Wouldnt play there again even if it was free

Played this relatively local course to me for the first time yesterday. After the extended period of good weather, found it not in the best condition. A playing partner described it as "looking tired". Can imagine that there is not a great amount of money being spent on it - greens: two tone, green and brown and what grass there was needed a good cut; bunkers: quality of sand questionable.

Having said all of the above the holes from tee to green are tough, if you're not straight. On the day, I wasn't!

Would I play again ? Yes - for £15 we paid - just to see if I can get around any straighter than I did yesterday, though it won't be near the top of my revisit list.

Course has improved a huge amount since last year but is in danger of slipping back to the mess it was unless work is done now to prevent it. This means spending money on good machinery and good ground staff. The only other complaint is that the web site is an absolute waste of time.

I have never wrote a review on here before, but after useing golf sake alot I thought I should leave an updated review for earlstoke golf club.
Rubbish course!!!
Fairways left to long and very wet and muddy on a very sunny afternoon with no rain for 3 days previous.
Greens again muddy and wet bumpy and slow.
Bunkers full of water and sand like mud.
Tee boxes like a ploughed field.
No signs for directions to next tee. No 100 yard markers.
Not worth £20
Sorry earlstoke but very disappointed the sort of course you would
Expect at a hoiliday camp!!
Did not use the club house but looked good every body friendly!!

Having just moved into the area I was looking for a new club and must admit I was a little put off by some of the reports I read. Went to the course to have a look for myself. The pro, Steve, was very welcoming and even managed to get me a spot in a comp a couple of days later. Lovely people, good challenging course - yes you can always find little faults but overall very very good and enjoyable. Numerous lovely views on the way round. Clubhouse and food very good and not expensive. Subs OK and no joining fee. I joined. Very satisfied.
