Crowborough Beacon
A tough course in very good condition. Absolutely nothing to complain about as far as condition of the greens and fairways are concerned. A nice cost clubhouse with good fcilities and staff.. Some of the holes are daunting because of the carry over heather and/or deep valleys. You need to be a long hitter to escape the dangers.Reviewer Rating

Too expensive.
Good course. Really enjoyed our round here. Played it a few years ago and it was reasonably priced, but sadly, just like most courses, it has become far too expensive. I was in the area last year and would have loved to have played there again, but sadly the price made me give it a miss. Played another course where we got a deal at quarter the priceReviewer Rating

Too expensive.
Played this course a couple of times maybe 2017-2018. Nice course & it was around £25-£30. Very reasonable. But now want £85 !!! Don't think there is any way it should have risen this much. Was going to play it again, but not at this priceReviewer Rating

Great golf course!
A really good test of golf. Played as a members guest so good value for money, although a bit expensive for a full paying visitor. Lovely course though, very interesting and magnificent views. Plays like a links in the summer. Placement is key. Food in the clubhouse was excellent too. Love this place and can't wait to go back.Reviewer Rating

Waste of Valuable Time
Never felt unwelcome in my golfing life. Attitude was cold ???? Could use debit card in clubhouse for ?1 but was forced to spend ?5 in pro shop. Forced to buy items I didn't need. All I wanted bottled water. Initially was told I could have a buggy & when I went back as arranged to be told none available yet there was one outside the pro shop. After the round of golf couldn't get the drinks wanted even though it's on the menu. Kept been told sorry we don't have it. This was the most unwelcoming course I've been fo thus far.Reviewer Rating

Excellent landscape, scenery & routing
Crowborough feels like an adventure - almost all its holes are dramatic, there are great views, there's strategy and the condition is good. It's a very memorable course, underrated and great value compared to its heathland relatives in Surrey.Reviewer Rating

Shame about the weather
Unfortunately we played the course on the wrong day. It was very wet with lots of standing water on fairways and greens and flooded bunkers. Very low cloud gave no views and some fairways were difficult to make out. That said, a great course, pro shop and clubhouse. We did not try the food or practice facilities. Course condition marked as fair due to the weather. You could see that on a better day it would be very good. There were very few people on the course.Reviewer Rating

Would I Play Again? Most Definitely!
There's a lot of history here, well detailed on the club website. It's also worth looking at the descriptions of each hole to make the most of playing this course.Beautiful views of the South Downs from the elevated first tee invite a long drive to a wide fairway, but there are some long, sometimes intimidating carries over heather and deep ravines to come later.... this course may not suit the higher handicap player.
Good variety of holes with different challenges, all of which are memorable after just my first visit. Nice 'springy' heathland fairways, greens rolling true, well maintained bunkers.... generally the standards you would expect to find at a top 100 course. A few dogleg holes where driver is not always the best choice from the tee.... I know now for next time!
I live 70 miles away, so it won't be a regular for me, but I will look forward to returning to play here again.

Lovely Heathery course
Shame about the weather and especially the rain. Some great views of the South Downs from the Highest Golf Course in Sussex. As mentioned very wet under foot and last couple of greens underwater. Condition though not bad , greens very playable. Some tees need a bit of work. What can I say apart from would play here again...in better conditions.(Round played: Jan 2018 - Score: 96 Handicap: 15.6)
