The first nine on this course are in a beautiful parkland setting and are a real treat to play. The second nine, which appear to have been added at a later date are in sloping shrub land and require a high degree of accuracy to achieve a reasonable score.

Good front 9 and a tight back 9. Some holes are squeezed in around the back. Lots of hills which makes it good fun with a golf cart!

Played yesterday (6/6/14) Fairways good as were the greens if a little slow. Front 9 straightforward and then the back 9 drops into the valley and bites. Looking forward to playing in Seniors Open in a few weeks time. Well worth a visit £13 on County Card

Great club house with friendly staff and well stocked bar.
Food was excellent played in a society day, bacon roll and coffee, light lunch and a lovely dinner to round of the day.

Front 9 plays across the top of a hill and is quite open and fairly forgiving, if a little bland, compensated by magnificent views over the Severn Vale and beyond. The tenth plays downhill and 11 through to 17 are some of the best holes you'll find. They play through a wooded valley, if you stray off line you're out of the hole. After the previous holes 18 is a little disappointing: a short steep walk from green to tee and then an uphill drive [needs to be straight] followed by a bit of a trudge up to the fairway then a staight approach to the green.
If they could rearrange the order of holes so 18 was played in the middle of the round I would rate the course 5*s.
The heavens opened while I played 6,7,8,and 9 yet the course, especially the greens held up well.
Clubhouse was empty, when I got in and hence, a little uninviting.
Would I go back? Definitely

Played this on an early Sunday morning in the very light drizzle and mist. The front 9 are fairly open and the greens are relatively straight and flat but in damn good condition. From what we could see, there are some pretty fantastics views. Now the back 9, a totally different story. Very up and down so if you dont wish to be worn out....get a buggy if only for these holes. The back 9 is a lot lot tighter and the greens are shaped and sloping. but what greens, fantastic to play on as i personally prefer this to flater type greens. Again, in very good condition. The drizzle and mist had cleared by now and again some brilliant views over to Wales. We played very early before the pro shop opened and I previously asked if there was any way we could get a buggy. They left a named buggy out for us....now thats service. this has to be one of the most friendliest clubs I have ever visited and as I am looking around here for a club to join this is presently way out on top of the list.Friendly, helpful, value for money....all worthwhile in my book. Will I be going back...pity i have to work during the week...roll on the weekend.

Like all courses at this time of year the greens are being dressed and prepared for the coming season, however with tram lines quite obvious on half the greens it does detract from the overall experience, having said that it is still a testing and enjoyable course, the staff are friendly and bar and changing facilities are as expected
