A well maintained course. Fairways, bunkers and greens were all in very good condition. Plenty of water, which claimed a couple of well hit balls; otherwise I played to my handicap. The course has lots of challenges but is not too difficult. Staff in the pro shop and clubhouse were very friendly. Facilities were excellent. Good value all round.

Very disappointing food for breakfast and small dinner for a well paying society group. Service was 'shy' and without any real courtesy or conversation. Course was good but would not return there.

The bunkers are much improved after the maintenance work completed over the winter. Just waiting for the greens to come on a bit after the early treatment. They are starting to roll a bit smoother. Fairways are looking and playing good.

Challenging course, first three holes ease you in but water comes into play on many holes after then. Mostly use the driver which is okay unless you're nervous on 9th and 11th holes where luxury homes seem to have put as much glass as possible within range!

Having played many times yardages seem out, seeing a well hit shot fall well short or disappear is infuriating.

That said, the course has a nice tempo, and other than one or two bottlenecks usually flows well. Bunkers and greens in very good nick.

I like this course you have to think your way round taking long irons or 5 wood off most tees thier are a few holes where you can take driver off the tee but you have to b straight(ish)hooks or bannana shots could hit one of the houses lining some of the holes.greens r good and if the suns out quite fast.the par3 5th is trickier than it looks, too much club and u could be in the stream behind the green, not enongh and you could spin off the green into water,3 is a good score here.11th can b a pig if u dont get 2 good shots away, take 6/5 iron off tee and club up on ur 2nd shot, its better to b long than short in the water or green side bunker.practice bunker by side of range is handy but range balls could b better.£20 for a round after 4pm during the week is great value.dont know what grubs like as i havent tried it yet but it did look good.

Best in the County

It always amazes me to see just how many, what I would call, mediocre courses always seem to rank above CPGC. Why? Seriously why?

It is a fantastic layout with some truly stunning holes. Ask any golfer for the best layout in Northamptonshire and this course wins hands down.
And as for the greens … they are rapid!!!

I see Sherwood Forest at no1 for the East Mids and having played both courses regularly they sit alongside each other for me. Yet you won’t see CP within the top 100 East Mids courses!!! Ha ha!!! Crazy!!!

I love Sherwoods tree lined layout but with all the water at CP, it’s a very different, yet just as challenging knock but intertwining a housing estate with some beautiful properties makes it very easy on the eye.

This course is without a shadow of a doubt a top 10 in the East Mids. If you’ve played it recently … you’d know this. The East Mids list needs adjusting to recognise this asap. ????????????????????

Not impressed with the sand that covered all the greens, made putting very inconsistent, not you expect from a quality course. It was like putting on a beach
