Great challenge
Played this course in March this year and was pleasantly surprised. Booked it through Teeofftimes so got a very reasonable rate £18pp. Situated in the affluent part of Northampton, the car park is not the easiest to find. Once parked and signed off we went. The first three holes don't set the scene of what is to come, quite bland parkland holes. Then you get to the 4th and the challenge begins, with water water everywhere!! Thoroughly enjoyed this course as it winds between millionaires row. Every par 3 was a challenge. The fairways and greens were in very good condition. The 18 holes ends with a par 5 over 500yds. You tee off over water, the water runs all down the left side and the green is on an island - great finishing hole. Staff friendly and we enjoyed a drink in the 19th. Will definetly return - enjoy your round.Reviewer Rating

Awesome
What a stunning course.Best kept fairways in the county for me.
They have coped really well after summer drought.
Greens were slow but good for time of year.
All in all a very good experience.
Definitely recommend

Long course
I always find Collingtree a long course for a 28 handicapper. I find I can play quite well on the front nine, although there are a couple of holes that have tight narrow fairways, which is difficult for a high handicapper. On the back nine, I find holes slip away from me, is it because I lack fitness, or that they are more difficult, I dont really know. But generally I enjoy the course.Reviewer Rating

Good but Bad
First time playing this course on a lovely Sunday Autumn afternoon.I didn't know it in its hey day so this is based on how i found it today.First the good. Staff in the shop are excellent, polite and helpful and great value at £18 for Sunday afternoon (online). The layout of the course is also very good with a great mix of holes winding its way around the housing estate, although not your average estate, think Southfork (ask your parents) meets Cheshire housewives! Most with nice Glass extensions so keep the ball straight!!! Lots of water which was also good. Fairways are okand the rough not to long either, but the greens are terrible. Pitch marks all over the place, the grass was too long and they played sooo slow, they are just rough. The greens spoilt was should/could have been a nice afternoon. The fabled 18th is a nice finish to the island green but the whole course could just do with a good shake up and sort out those bumpy, lumpy, slow greens. Delapre down the road has better greens than some of these!! Could be great but just a very average pay and play venue i'm afraid. Won't be returning any time soon.

great condition -well watered greens and fairways
Really enjoyed it - greens and fairways in top nick. Some people moan that this course is not in as good a condition as its heyday in the 80'90's - (there are lots of photos of Sam Torrance and Seve from the Masters events there!) .... well so what ......I wasn't playing golf then but i'm playing now......and this is a good course. Some really outstanding holes like the par 5 4th, par 3 5th , par 5 9th, par 4 10th and 11th and of course the finale 18th is probability the toughest 18th I have played. A standout hole.
I just love playing and looking at the amazing houses that line the course....oh how the over half live!
Don;t listen to the old fashioned/backward looking moaners...go play this course .it is not even 5 mins off Jn15 of the M1 in Northampton.
PS With Open fairways memebership i got it for £36 for 2 players!
beautiful views from the 19th hole :-) and reasonably priced food.....can't go wrong
