Best course in our area for winter golf, greens are nearly always playable and I have play it after the worst wet weather when local non links courses, are closed. Greens are very good.

Friendly welcome around the club house and food was canny enough. We paid £33 for coffee and bacon butty, a round of golf and a 2 course meal which I think was good value on a Sunday. The course is a typical links and was in good nick with fast true greens. It is a shame about the area it's in with a big smelter type construction dominating the skyline, and with kids BMX'ing across the 18th green you soon realise your at a down to earth sort of club! If you love links golf i'm sure you'll enjoy Cleveland as long as you ignore the surrounding vista! I'm not a massive fan of links golf. I enjoyed the need and challenge of having to think your way around this course for the first 9 or 10 holes but then the novelty wore off and i yearned for a chance to blast my drives off in to the wild blue yonder. Unless you are a very good player you don't really gett he chance to do that here. For me the course was enjoyable over the first few holes but got progressively narrower, more challenging and riddled with sharp dog legs the further you went. This spoilt my enjoyment towards the end. It was a sunny day with areasonable breeze when we played and i think we found the weather as good as it's likely to get here. A breeze combined with the increasingly difficult course meant the last few holes were spent being more concerned about not losing more balls, in the typical unforgiving links rough, as opposed to concentrating on scoring well or enjoying the round. A good course with nice people around the clubhouse but i'm rushing off to find a few trees to hug on a lovely parkland course somewhere.

very good, not a single tree on the course so its wide open to wind, a true links course, enjoyable and a good test, the rough is punishing but not unplayable, the steel foundry makes a suprisingly good backdrop

Fantastic links course.

Cleveland is a fantastic course and a great test of anyone’s game. Rough is penal if you stray too far wide. Areas between fairways when off line at least offered the opportunity to find your ball. Greens excellent ran fast and true. Very friendly members and staff especially Craig House manager and Ian one of the greens staff.
