What the club says: Over the years, the par 69 has matured superbly, with its manicured fairways and undulating greens, it has gained a reputation for being one of the most popular courses to visit in the North West. At just over 6,000 yards from the white tees, the course now represents a challenging test for golfers of all levels and ability, whilst offering mostly flat and easy walking from greens to tees.

An Enjoyable Round
Three high handicappers blundering around a well looked after course. Fairways in really good condition. Greens have just been worked on and will require a little time to settle. As usual the ditch across the 14th and 15th caused chaos to one of our number ( in it twice) and amazement to another who cleared it twice, with an iron!Reviewer Rating

A worthwhile visit
Clays golf is really worth a visit. Not a long course but you need to be accurate. Greens maybe small but can be difficult to read which can put pressure on you putting skills. A course that is really enjoyable.Reviewer Rating

Much improved under new ma5
Having been a member at Clays for over 10 years, it's great to witness the improvements that are being brought about by the new management, both on the course and in the clubhouse. Clays is a course that requires accuracy and provides an excellent test for players of all abilities. I would recommend anyone who hasn't played the course for a while to make a point of visiting in 2018 and see the improvements for themselves.Reviewer Rating

Have played at Clays for the last 16 years and have always been able to play at least part of the course regardless of the weather. Greens have been up and down but the Last 12 months has seen a significant improvement despite some of the off course issues. The most contentious for members has been the rough which has been slowing the round down through having to search for balls. Under the new ownership this is being addresses and I look forward to another year on what is a challenging course.Reviewer Rating

Clays Golf Club review
I have been a member for over 16 years now as a member of the Seniors Section. I feel it is a great club with great members. Albeit there are days when after heavy rain some holes are closed but that does not matter. During the times when there are no problems one cannot fault the club or the course. All the staff are so helpful and courteous and the food is excellent. The Club is now under new management and I wish them all the very best for the future.Reviewer Rating
