Ploughed Field. Horrible.
Visited this week and we felt like asking for a refund.The course was a muddy mess with major sections of the fairways (and occasionally even the fringes of greens) rutted with tyre tracks from heavy machinery. Although preferred lies were in play it was frequently difficult to find any grass near enough to improve your lie. To compound matters it was not uncommon to find litter spread across fairways or tees. We lost a couple of balls just yards from the 9th green due to the area left of the green being strewn with balls from the adjacent practice ground.
The layout of the course is good and certainly challenging especially if you draw the ball, there's lots of trouble left of the fairways.
Greens were OK but bunkers were in variable condition with some being very poor (compacted sand, crumbling surrounds with weeds and animal scrapes).
Imagine it takes several rounds to figure how best to navigate your way around and club selection requires careful thought.
Could be a great track if maintained to an acceptable standard but we were left bemused by the claims that it is one of Wales's premier golf courses. A bit of an eyesore with horrible underfoot conditions and limited practice facilities.

Great Course
Played two days ago and the course was in fantastic condition. A real challenge with tight fairways and fast greens. Back nine harder than the front with a few greens ensuring some big swinging putts to keep you on your toes. Members and staff very friendly, I can’t wait to play it again!Reviewer Rating

Great layout. Some excellent holes and in fantastic condition. It's not Sunningdale so not 5 stars but try it and I think you'll be very surprised how good it is.

Lovely course layout with superb variation and challenges on each hole. Back 9 plays a little harder than the first and it's certainly a course which requires thought as well as ability.
Drains brilliantly well and seems to hold up excellently following periods of sustained poor weather. Only concern at present is the greens which have excellent growth coverage but desperately need rolling.
Fully recommended.

Very hilly course in good condition though some of the greens were a little slow! Would like to play again with the course knowledge, lots of "surprises"!

It was a very windy day but the course was in great condition considering the rain there's been, a couple of winter greens and tees but you'd expect it this time of year. Really enjoyed course

Very impressive course. Greens were in excellent condition very true. Fairways well defined and like carpets. Good changes in elevation and most fairways slope. Holes tree lined and path ways very tidy. Some par 3s with big pine trees are great. One course i would reconmend in this area.

What a hidden gem. This course was in immaculate condition. Good holes to test your game. Clubhouse is mint with a view over the first and final hole. Well stocked pro shop. Didn't stay for food . I would thoroughly recommend this course if you are in the area

Wrexham was a new venue for us, what a gem just a shame we have not been before, there were 25 of us and we were made very welcome from the staff and members alike. The course is a very good test but plays fair, it was in great condition and presented very well. After the golf we had a very nice meal. We will return.

Fairways a bit patchy but the greens were fast even if a bit woolly on some but suspect this was to protect them from recent good weather. Rough was as challenging as ever - stiff lesson to make sure you keep on the fairways!

The course is built on sand so it plays well all year round. The greens are kept in top condition and the fairways are quite wide especially on the back 9.

Old style course with alot of traditions! Back nine is very different to front. Front is more interesting and challenging as the back nine has wider fairways.
