What the club says: At Chestfield you are afforded an excellent round of golf, matched only by the clubhouse hospitality. The course suits golfers of all abilities but with it being a hilly course, will challenge even the most seasoned of golfers. The course is easily walkable but for those wanting to reserve energy, buggies are available for hire. The most attractive part of the course is undoubtedly the area comprising the first and eighteenth holes, set in the centre of the village near the Oast House. The most testing part of the course lies on Shrub Hill overlooking the sea, where golfers will find much to interest and challenge them, not least the new 553 yard second hole. Other less demanding holes are more subtle in character and offer substantial rewards to the more cautious golfer.

Excellent track & clubhouse
This is a lovely course. Very well maintained.Wide enough to be forgiving, but don't go too far of the right lines. Green are superb but sometimes a little scary.
Fantastic views from the holes.at he top of the course.
The clubhouse is charming. Like stepping back into a bygone age. Staff were very friendly and the food was excellent.

Wet
Nice course, lovely clubhouse, good variety of holes. We unfortunately played it on a very wet day, standing water on the greens made putting a lottery.Reviewer Rating

rolling fairways, sloping greens
A nice track. Be careful not to be above the pins as the downhill, sidehill putts are deadly.Generous fairways

Course was in good condition and made for enjoyable round. Big disappointment was the super slow pace of play, over 41/2 hr round with no effort made by the club to move play along.

Deceptively challenging course
Being near the coast this course is subject to wind which could make it even more challenging. Even though the day I played it was a calm day I still found the course very difficult the greens are deceptive.Reviewer Rating

Good course, thoroughly recommend
Really pleasant course with some great views. Lots of hills so I find it a difficult course but that’s also why I like playing it. The course is in good order by and large with the greens excellent. Members are friendly and welcoming. Only thing I would ask they do is sort out the half way house! Today we couldn’t get anything to drink or eat until we finished(Round played: Jul 2020 - Score: 105 Handicap: 24.5)

great views, challenging greens
We enjoyed the challenge of a blustery Chestfield Golf course. Lots of undulating fairways and changes in elevation. The greens were very tricky, especially if you had a sliding downhill putt! Fairways were too dry and cut to tight to allow for a proper shot.(Round played: Jul 2020 - Score: 86 Handicap: 9)

Hilly and taxing
Winter has hit this course hard with 13 of 18 holes being temporary but their planning long term. Has a lot of boggy ground at the moment which is strange as it's a hilly course. Despite that it's an excellent course which is challengingReviewer Rating
