Greens are an absolute embarrassment with many having huge patches of dead grass and threadbare surfaces. Semi rough is too long meaning good shots that take unlucky bounces off fairways can become lost easily. It is 3yrs since I last played the course and it has deteriorated markedly.

price was right
The hot weather has not helped the greens,very patchy and uneven run.Nice course to play all the same. Good value for the fee and the bar was open when we finished friendly staff and a good selection of drinks.(Round played: Jul 2018 - Score: 88 Handicap: 18.5)

The course was very difficult due to the dry weather. A couple of greens need some attention, but apart from that it is excellent value for money.

In need of major work
Calverley has 16 holes most of the year and the long grass and cut grass left on the course are a disgrace. The promised par 5 new fairway has seen little progress over the years. If there isn't some serious investment very soon I can see this course losing it's members and it's future. A shame because it is potentially excellent.Reviewer Rating

Good value Groupon offer
Good value groupon offer but wouldnt rush back. Bunkers not maintained and first timers might find it confusing to navigate but decent value when bought on the groupon offer.(Round played: Jun 2018 - Score: 99 Handicap: 28)

Poor so poor
Played a few weeks ago, three ball in front of me held me up for the first 5 holes.The course was the worst I've played, needs a lot of work. Bunkers or full of weeds and sand like concrete.
Pro shop was ok and staff were friendly.

Friendly Club
Great course, greens a bit iffy on some holes but a great course. Very friendly members & the people in the pro shop very helpful and friendly, unlike some other clubs!.(Round played: Jul 2019 - Score: 95 Handicap: 18.9)

Very Enjoyable
Rabbits 4BBB stableford matchplay - course was lovely - grass a bit long in spots but the fairways and greens were very well defined. Greens were quick, company was great and the food and drink afterwards was spot on - will be looking at taking our online society there in the none-too-distant future if it's possible to accommodate us!(Round played: May 2018 - Score: 89 Handicap: 14.9)

Nice course

A very good and interesting course. Yardage is measured to the front go the greens. Could do with colour coded flags or similar to give an indication of whether the flag on each hole was at the front, centre or back of the greens.

£10 Sunday lunch time, with a pint ! Great little course, plenty of variety with the holes. Quarry hole excellent. Greens decent, have played plenty of varied price courses and this was well worth £10. \ Blind shots are part of golf. Look at the course map(on scorecard). Or walk to brow of hill and have a look.only 3blind shots and 2 doglegs.\ 14hcp

Very disapointed. grass round bunkers not cut, very untidy. Every hole is on top of each other. Greens only seem to be watered when it rains and in poor condition. Rough far too long and the pars 3's felt like I was playing on a pitch with the tiny greens. no rakes in bunkers which were just building sand with stones in. Far too expensive, £22.50 each!!! I have played better council courses, I would pay £9-£10 to play but wouldnt play again or recommend to friends

The course was very disappointing after wanting to play there for some time, second cut was very deep, around the tees and greens were not very well kept. I have played better municiple courses and hotel courses, not worth the £500.00 full 7 day membership that is on offer

A good course with some issues
I've always enjoyed the layout to calverley. Some challenging holes and some on the easier side. The one par 5 on the course never failing to cause me problems. The fairways were in beautiful condition and the greens pretty good as well, if a little slow. The price was a little on the high side for me given a few of the holes were temp greens. Some not so good reviews on here and google. Other than 2 holes being closed I can't really fault it. Having said that, we were allowed to play 2 and 3 again to make up the 18. Some interesting holes and some difficult holes. The rough is quite rough but the fairways were great. The greens were 7/10 but still pretty decent. For £15 it's a no brainer.

Excellent value
Course needs some Tlc in terms of cutting grass and getting bunkers sorted but for £12 for 18 holes you can’t argue. Club is friendly and beer is reasonably priced.Reviewer Rating

I have never seen such terrible greens in 25 years of playing the game ,, course in terrible condition and quite untidy ,,each tee needs marking up properly so it's easier for visitors ,,it's very confusing ,,also weeds in bunkers is a sign the club don't care about the course ,,only highlight was the guy in the pro shop he was lovelyReviewer Rating

Calverley Golf Club
First n foremost, for the price, you won't find a better value golf course anywhere!We got a bargain price on Golf Now for 8.99 for 18.... unbelievable.
There are some negatives tho. I think more clearer signage for the lay out would be an advantage and the tee boxes need work, although you can't excuse some people's idea of fun when they purposely vandalise some. The Course is quite forgiving and the signature 5th hole is very good. Didn't like that holes 17 and 18 are across the road from the rest of the course. If they could somehow bring everything together in one place I feel it would be better.
All-in-all tho, I enjoyed the experience and would return in time.
